Bluesky cross-posting integrations

Restriction: This feature is available only in Premium groups, Enterprise groups, and legacy Free groups.

About Bluesky cross-posting integrations

With BlueSky cross-posting, you can automatically share the first message in a new topic to your linked Bluesky account—if it includes one of your selected hashtags.

Note: Replies and follow-ups will not be posted to the Bluesky account, and messages without a selected hashtag will stay within your group.

Adding a Bluesky cross-posting integration

  1. Desktop browser: In the left menu on the group’s website, select Admin > Preferences > Integrations.
    Mobile device: At the bottom of a group page, tap the More icon, then select Admin > Preferences > Integrations on the More menu.
  2. On the Integrations page, in the Bluesky Cross-Posting Integration panel, click or tap the + Bluesky Cross-Posting Integrations button. The Add Bluesky Cross-Posting Integration page appears.
  3. Click or tap the Authenticate With Bluesky button, and sign in to the Bluesky account you want to integrate with the group. If it is the first time you are signing in to Bluesky from Groups.io, authorize Groups.io to access the Bluesky account. Then you are returned to Groups.io.
  4. Select the hashtag or hastags that you want to cross-post to the Bluesky account.
  5. Click or tap the Add button at the bottom of the page.

  2. On the Integrations page, in the Bluesky Cross-Posting Integration panel, click or tap the Edit Bluesky Cross-Posting Integrations button. The Add Bluesky Cross-Posting Integration page appears.
  3. Click or tap the Authenticate With Bluesky button, sign in to the additional Bluesky account you want to integrate with the group, and authorize Groups.io to access that Bluesky account. 
  4. When you return to Groups.io, select the hashtag or hastags that you want to cross-post to that Bluesky account.
  5. Click or tap the Update button at the bottom of the page.

Modifying a Bluesky cross-posting integration

  1. Desktop browser: In the left menu on the group’s website, select Admin > Preferences > Integrations.
    Mobile device: At the bottom of a group page, tap the More icon, then select Admin > Preferences > Integrations on the More menu.
  2. On the Integrations page, in the GitHub Integration Active panel, click or tap the Edit Bluesky Cross-Posting Integrations button. The Bluesky Cross-Posting Integrations page lists the existing integrations.
  3. Click or tap the link to the integration you want to modify.
  4. Sign in to Bluesky (if necessary), then make your changes on the Edit Bluesky Cross-Posting Integration page.
  5. Click or tap the Update button at the bottom of the page. Groups.io updates the integration and returns to the Bluesky Cross-Posting Integrations page.

Removing a Bluesky cross-posting integration

  1. Desktop browser: In the left menu on the group’s website, select Admin > Preferences > Integrations.
    Mobile device: At the bottom of a group page, tap the More icon, then select Admin > Preferences > Integrations on the More menu.
  2. On the Integrations page, in the GitHub Integration Active panel, click or tap the Edit Bluesky Cross-Posting Integrations button. The Bluesky Cross-Posting Integrations page lists the existing integrations.
  3. Select the checkbox for the integration you want to remove. You can select more than one if you want to remove multiple Bluesky cross-posting integrations.
  4. Click or tap the Remove Integrations button at the bottom right of the page.
  5. When the Verify Removal confirmation popup appears, click or tap Yes. The integration is removed from the page.
