Finally had Enough of HRD. Need suggestions?

Well after 7 years as a paying customer I have finally had enough of HRD issues. Long story short, for some reason my Canada call will not come up to sign on if I have no Wifi. This makes portable digital operations impossible. I usually use the IC-705 as remote access, so as soon as I sign in on the radios network it drops my Canada call. I opened a ticket the first of July and it was closed last night with no explanation and no response to my inquiry as to why. I am very upset over this but I do not have a choice.
So, I need a different program that will run PSK and other digital modes. I have a N3FJP account so I can run that as a logger. for my portable rig and computer. I know everyone has there favorite but.....what is out there? FLdigi? Does N1MM work? Steve VA3FLF |

I use MixW 3.2.105. I tried MixW 4 but couldn't get it to work like the older version and I prefer the way the older (3.2.105) works. The 3.2 version doesn't do FT8. Same report on MixW 3.2.105.
I also use ACLog.

I also use ACLog and fldigi, works great. Once setup fldigi logs directly to ACLog.

Try N7YG's PSKExpress. It does both PS and RTTY. It also intergrates with AClog and will run with or without WIFI.

JoAnn. I know what you mean abt HRD. I like it ok but my favorite is FLDIGI with ACLOG. Works great. And they don't charge 50 bucks a year just to answer a question FLGDIGI has a great group.Everyone more than happ to help you. I can give an additional vote for fldigi, but keep in mind it's going to depend what your requirements are. It works well for me, but I probably don't use it the way you do. It does have the ability to be extended with external scripting, so if there's a feature it doesn't have natively, you might be able to write something yourself to plug that hole; but I would start with listing what HRD does that you use today, and see if you can check off that punch list while comparing different tools. -- David, K9DWR #1604 LONP #255 david@... |

Thanks everyone for all the input. I am going to do a crash course on FLdigi this weekend and set up my portable rig/computer. I will try and do a POTA on Sunday or Monday for a real time COMEX if all goes well.

When you run FLdigi and ACLog together make sure they are connected via API When you click on the Log Button on FLdigi it will automatically log to ACLog You will need to change all your info in FLdigi to correspond to where your POTA station is located QTH Grid etc then switch back to your normal QTH Grid when you get back home Any more help just ask Chris N9JCA PODXS 797 73 On 7/15/22 00:11, Steve VA3FLF/KM4FLF via groups.io wrote:

Jeff's service is FREE. In fact, I have found a few bug for him. I have Beta Tested new releases from time to time.
