Valentine Sprint Log Uploader did not seem to pick up OM/YL data
Harry, N6TE
I uploaded the adif file of my sprint contest log and the report correctly indicated the number of qso's, st/pr, and dxcc but did not indicate om/yl points. I had put OM or YL in the "notes" section of the log. Should I have put it somewhere else?

I put OM or YL after their name but the checker didn't recognize the format Question? How does the checker know id your contact was either an OM or YL? Chris N9JCA PODXS #797 LONP #165 73

The uploader results didn't show the number of my YL's, however the three YL entries I uploaded showed YL in the data field, so I imagine they will get counted as long as YL shows up in your data.

Same here, and awaiting answer from our programmer.Hey folks. I'm looking into this, but I likely won't have a quick answer to what the scoring is doing. What I can say right now is a few things: 1. The code is correctly identifying YL entries. Looking at K5SP's log and the debug output from the code, I see that the 4 YL multipliers got picked up with the other multipliers. {'mults': {'dxcc': {'data': ['291', '1'], 'errors': []}, 'state': ['TX', 'UT', 'IL', 'SC', 'ON', 'FL', 'NC', 'WV', 'AZ', 'MS', 'GA', 'CA', 'MI', 'NY', 'OH', 'WA', 'IN'], --->> 'yl': 4}, 2. The YL is picked up if it's put in any of the following fields in descending order (and yes, I have seen it put in all of these fields): app_n1mm_misctext srx_string srx comment notes name class other award So the odds are very high that if you put the info in any of these locations, it got picked up. 3. While the output is not displaying discrete information about a contact's status (OM/YL), it is being recognized. What I'm looking into is whether or not the actual scoring logic is working as intended. I'll check some things and figure out if anything is broken first, and look into more detailed output to represent this in the displayed results once that's validated. -- David, K9DWR #1604 LONP #255 david@...

I had originally put YL in the "RST IN" area and changed it to the "Name" area and then it picked it up. In the process of making the change I noticed my logger did not pick up a few States so I inserted them manually and uploaded again. I gained a State multiplier and the addition of the YL contacts made my score increase by 105. Make sure your logger records the state/country.

Ok, good news, bad news. The bad news is there is a bug in how the data is displayed. Fixing it is not trivial and I don't currently have the time to devote to a large-scale update to fix it. If I find some time, I'll do my best to clean it up. The good news is it's a display bug in the individual report only; the actual total is correct. Even though any information about the YL entries is not being displayed properly, the value *IS* being collected and scoring properly, so the contest results themselves are accurate and will be accurately displayed in the end report. For example, here are the current standings in the summary report: callsign category OM/YL 070-number Qs yl-count dxcc-mult state-mult total KC3FL High Power 100 watts OM 2566 45 3 2 18 960 KJ7MEB High Power 100 watts YL 2774 25 2 2 13 405 KK6KMU High Power 100 watts OM 2484 24 5 2 14 464 N3XL High Power 100 watts OM 2722 16 0 2 12 224 N5SLY High Power 100 watts OM 2241 58 9 2 21 1541 K4VBM High Power 100 watts OM 2727 18 0 1 14 270 N8FL Low Power 25 watts OM 2219 54 0 3 21 1296 AB8YZ Low Power 25 watts YL 2844 39 0 2 19 819 AG7CC Low Power 25 watts OM 2893 14 1 2 11 195 K5SP Low Power 25 watts OM 483 35 4 2 17 741 KO4CVU Low Power 25 watts OM 2801 15 3 2 10 216 N6TE Low Power 25 watts OM 790 20 5 2 10 300 N9JCA Low Power 25 watts OM 797 27 2 2 17 551 W9SMR Low Power 25 watts OM 1611 32 5 2 17 703 K9DWR Low Power 25 watts OM 1604 2 0 1 2 6 KA5VZG Low Power 25 watts OM 1509 13 1 1 12 182 KN4ZXG Low Power 25 watts OM 2834 9 0 1 5 54 NF1T Low Power 25 watts YL 2898 20 2 1 11 264 NZ4N Low Power 25 watts OM 2785 8 0 1 7 64 VA3RSA Low Power 25 watts OM 12 0 1 7 96 AF1R Medium Power 50 watts YL 2871 12 0 2 9 132 KD6TR Medium Power 50 watts OM 2618 27 2 2 14 464 KF3AA Medium Power 50 watts OM 124 41 6 2 17 893 KR4U Medium Power 50 watts OM 272 44 6 2 20 1100 N7GVV Medium Power 50 watts OM 463 43 5 2 20 1056 N8TCP Medium Power 50 watts OM 2693 10 0 2 10 120 VE3OOZ Medium Power 50 watts OM 2896 33 3 2 19 756 WA5AMM Medium Power 50 watts OM 2827 59 7 2 19 1386 WG0Y Medium Power 50 watts YL 36 2 2 15 646 K4REB Medium Power 50 watts OM 1553 17 0 1 9 170 K7PAX Medium Power 50 watts YL 1739 2 0 1 1 4 KE8QYK Medium Power 50 watts OM 2887 10 0 1 7 80 KK6M Medium Power 50 watts OM 2883 10 0 1 9 100 N6MG Medium Power 50 watts OM 650 5 0 1 5 30 NU4N Medium Power 50 watts OM 1657 9 0 1 9 90 K9VIC QRP 5 watts OM 312 48 6 2 18 1080 NN9K QRP 5 watts OM 2629 51 4 2 22 1320 If you find you don't agree with the total you received, please let me know so I can cross-check it against what the scorer is doing. -- David, K9DWR #1604 LONP #255 david@...

There are folks here that refuse to share their settings and how they do things like this, and where they populate things in ACLog and with their spreadsheets.
I'm not like that and always eager to share. I use ACLog, and have labeled one of the "Other" fields as SRX and that's where I put a multiplier from
a contest or in the case either YL or OM.
There may be other ways to do this but this is how I did it.
I uploaded my log earlier today and all went as it was supposed to.
