Contest Exchanges and Options

Hi to all...
As Director of LONP and Contests, (Two hats)
I'm, personally, going to start doing something different with my contest & operating event exchanges.
I'm going to add my 070-650 number to my exchange macro.
I think it'll make it easier for those who are chasing and accruing membership numbers for LONP.
It's 7 characters of varicode & it sure can't hurt.
EX: "k5sp de n6mg pls copy OM CA de Milt, n6mg 070-650 btu k"
Anyone else interested?
Milt.

It will definitely help with spotting stations above # 2786

How did you get so smart in your old age. Yes I will add my PODXS 070-2883 number to the exchange in this and all PODXS contests

Hiyas,

It was great visiting with you and Sandy yesterday. That sounds like a great idea. I’m in.

Milt,
Just a little clarification.  What ADIF field will the POXDS number go into?  Or does it matter?

Bob -

it won't matter. The PODXS number is not used in scoring--that's why it's not part of the required exchange. Even if it's included in the ADIF (under a comment field, for example) the scorer will ignore it.

It's just there for the convenience of the other operator who may be chasing LONP.

Hi Bob...It's not required to be put anywhere.
Dealers choice as to where it goes, as it's not a scoring requirement.
Strictly an option in your log & exchange to assist with your LONP chase.
Thanks for helping us think this thru & your participation in the LONP program.
Similarly, we have an operating event on the drawing board that will involve a
members 070 number in the exchange.
More to follow on that as it develops in the "PODXS 070 Club Think Tank". :-)
On a different subject, can you hit the 2m Catalina repeater at 147.090 (-), no tone?

Now that we have determined where to put the PODXS  # or where not to put it, where do we put YL so that the checker picks up the YL contacts?   RSQ IN would be my guess.  BTW, like the PODXS number idea.

Milt,

Thanks for the answer.  I only have a 2 meter HT.  I have never been able to hit the repeater from here.  Sorry.
