I agree. I didn't work any PSK this summer, but did hear a decent number of ten meter CW beacons, some not heard since 2014. Thanks for sharing.

I have posted a recap of 10-Meter PropNET results this year's Spring/Summer Es season.

Titled, " 10-Meter Sporadic Es Have Returned".

Also, on my personal Blog: http://ka5dwipropagation.blogspot.com/2017/09/10-meter-sporadic-es-have-returned.html

It was a very good year on 10-Meters, despite a low turn out of PropNET participants here west of the Mississippi.

Please read, enjoy and comment.
Many of you that played on 10 Meter PSK31 showed up throughout the season on PropNET's Realtime Maps and in the capture database that I used for this analysis.
Please note what happened this year compared to the past 9 years. I think you will see great opportunities in the future years for 10-Meter Es.

(OT) Sharing Com Ports with Virtual Serial Ports Emulator (VPSE) or other application

Mike Besemer <mwbesemer@...>

Hello all… hope those in the path of Irma are safe.

I've already posted this to the MixW group, but thought it might be worth
posting here.

I’m running the latest version of MixW and would like to continue to use
ACLog for logging.

I have set up VPSE, but with both applications running, I get an error from
MixW stating ‘The parameter is incorrect’.

I have ACLog running on Com 1 and MixW running on Com 2.  Currently, I am
running VSPE as a splitter, with Com 4 (the radio) split to Com 1 and Com 1
split to Com 2.  Settings are:

Port Speed: 9600
DTR/RTS: No (have also tried Yes)
Parity: No
Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1
Read Interval Timout: -1

I’ve seen in that others have used VPSE successfully to share the Com Port.
If anyone would care to share, I’d be very grateful.

Mike

If he doesn't say he's operating split, I wouldn't assume he is. It might just be that you can't hear the ones he's talking to.

If he IS operating split, he should be announcing where he's listening.

Steve,
Just one word describes the prop here....KA-KA. (Kah-Kah for those of us in New England),
I toured the shortwave bands and they are really dead compared to the normal activity.

We have relatives in Tampa so I am sure that they are not happy with the latest developments. ( and we always thought that the west side was safer!)

Hoping and praying everyone makes it through this OK.

Thanks. I'll try to be on just before 0900 CDT / 1000 EDT / 1400z looking for you. I presume your usual 20m, around 14072.

And let me echo the warning from Rick N7WE. We have family near Melbourne, Gainesville, and The Villages, and even Tuesday or Wednesday might be too early. The storm might be past, but there might not be enough services (fuel, food, etc) to support people coming back. Stay safe.
