Re: My two cents
Irv: True. However, the object of this is to only work 070 members . Non-members don't count in this contest, BUT next year (2019) St. Pat's Day and other 070 contests will be open to ALL. If someone calls me who isn't a member I will usually give them the 070 web page info and thank them for the contact. PODXS wants to be more inclusive now and pick up a few more members, but the logistics (Score Checker ) to include non-members needs to be worked out. Jerry n9avy

Re: St. Patrick’s Day Contest!
Missed quite a few tonight. Saw them but they either faded out or disappeared. Didn't find any new members I hadn't worked before... where were all the new guys ??? Saw a few non-members , but didn't work 'em. I was fun , but I tired out too soon... long day before contest. Hope to see everyone later today and need some new 070#. Jerry n9avy

12 Hour at Sebring Special Event Station.
David E. McCanna
I cannot get on! I would like to invite everyone to a Special Event. The club in Sebring FL is using their club call sign to celebrate the running of the 12 Hours of Sebring Endurance Race. I and one other are doing 14,070 Psk31 and are getting very few online contacts. Our voice friends are doing 30 to 40 in the same time we get 6. The other topic--I cannot seem to log into post normally. Would someone that knows how please educate me. I used to login using Yahoo and the seamless transfer did not work for me. I do not normally use the link that may show up right now. Thanks to anyone that can tell me what to do!!

UNIVERSITY CLUBS
Sherri Rapp
Hi all! I just had a lovely chat with the faculty adviser (David Kazdan, AD8Y) for the Case Western Reserve University radio club (W8EDU) in Cleveland, Ohio. David says that he helped bring the club back from near-extinction and they now boast around 250 licensed students, participate in multiple contests every semester, and have won the School Club Round up twice now. That's pretty amazing! It's so neat to chat with seemingly random people and find out what their clubs are doing. Does anyone here work with university/college radio clubs? If so, how do you coordinate with the school and what projects are you working on? Cheers! Sherri, WB4OSU

Joe - a Google & Snopes search of "what has President Trump banned" reveals the travel ban. That's it. Period. Like him or not (not saying I do or not), what you said is NOT "fact". Now, this is - if anyone brings it up again (or any other politics unrelated specifically to ham radio), they'll immediately be put on moderated status. I don't "rule" this message reflector at all, much less with an "iron fist", but I will draw the line on this sort of thing. Please, don't even respond - just let it drop. 73 Matt King AK4MK - 070 #1708 PODXS 070 Club Executive Director

Upcoming mailing - change of plans
Matthew King - AK4MK
After discussing it with our John Bower, KE4JB, our Chief Mailing Technician, we've decided to "get back on schedule" with our mailings. That should be January, May and September. We did an "end of year" mailing, so if we were to do one now as previously announced, it'd be a pretty small mailing. On account of the schedule issue and the smallish mailing size were we to do it now, we've decided to hold off until the first week of May to send out the stickers and certificates that have been earned so far this year. April 30th at midnight EST will be the cutoff for this mailing. I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused. It's my fault. Yell at me if ya like.... :-) 73 Matt King AK4MK - 070 #1708 PODXS 070 Club Executive Director

Fw: [K9RN] KH6JF/MM Sea Going Drone is Making Digital Contacts
Has this been around before ? Can't remember. It's on PSK , too . Jerry HF Voyager is an ocean-going drone currently making its way from Hawaii to California that can carry out amateur radio contacts in several digital modes. On-board in a waterproof container is an Elecraft KX3 and a Raspberry Pi computer enabling a variety of digital modes to be used. The station uses FT8 and PSK-31 on the 20 meter band as its primary operating modes. You may also find it using WSPR in times of poor propagation. Call sign to look for? KH6JF/MM. More details and the current location of the drone are available at:
