APE's on Vashon

Bernie <kf4fhs@...>

Hey Everybody,

The xyl, Melonie / KD7ORS and myself, Bernie / KF4FHS will be operating
from Vashon Island, Washington (USI WA-060s), sorry not an IOTA :-( either
the first or second weekend in Aug.

We will be on the air from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning, and will
operate on 30 thru 10 meters.

I'll be making up a special QSL card for the 070 club members that we work.

I will post another note, closer to Aug. advising the exact dates.

Although not definite, we are also going to try to go up to Mt. Ranier,
for another weekend, towards the end of Aug., providing the thing don't
erupt before then.

I'm joining this discussion late, so my small contribution
is "Thanks!" for retaining the Lower 48, Aloha & Alaska (which as we
all know combine for WAS PSK31). I finally received my ARRL WAS PSK31
certificate, having earned it the "old fashion way" with qsl cards.
It was fun, challenging, and a great motivator to get those last
states confirmed. Again, thanks, Jay for listening to your
constituents during this election year . . . : )

BTW: tns fer qsl card(s) and endorsement stickers for 'Rumble & tdw

Greetings all,

For Field Day I've been drafted to work 20M CW in Gainesville, FL at K4EAF.
They're gonna have a PSK31 station and I'll sneak in there when not on CW.
Sleep? What's that?

Hope to see all y'all,

Hi All,
I wonder what everyone is doing for Field Day this year. I usually head for
the field but this year I have a family commitment interfering. So I'll be
working from the back yard and plan to work lots of PSK. It'll give me a
chance to check out some portable antenna ideas I have for my August APE trip
to the Outer Banks of NC.

Hope to see lots of PSK sigs on the waterfall along with all them CW
interlopers that like to fill up the digital bands during contests. Maybe
they'll like our musical tones and decide to try it themselves.

Morning all---
10M finally opened,but not until 0200Z,(9PMCDST)...
I was putting together my FD portable, and worked K9WIS from 0200--0230.
FT817,5W,portable MP-1 ant on the patio table....maybe there's hope for 10M
next weekend.
I'm going to make up a quick dipole for 10M ,so will look for y'all on
10M this afternoon.
Anyone having any luck on 6M PSK--I think 50.290 is the spot?

Good evening to all... I was yelling at full song at Egypt,
SU9BN in the Sinai. I think Alan's an Aussie de VK6....only running qrp with g5rv...he
no hear me in the soup from EU & USA :-(
It's only about 24000 Km from here...easy eh?
I worked VP5, VP2M, KP2 recently on PSK, all 'new ones'...
I'm starting to push Erika's total....I could do with OJ0, but again I'm out-ranged,
out-propagated....like most times!
I must have a pretty nice signal, 'cos people like to get
real close to my trace, so that I can't see whose called me?
Maybe that's the solution...get one of those big fat wide traces to keep your bit
of the band clear????
See ya'll de Duncan ZL3JT

saw or heard Hawaii at this time of the day before. 73's Erika/DL2AYL
Erika -

Congrats on Hawaii. I know that's hard for you, especially on 20m.
Haven't seen Duncan recently, though.

If anybody is awake now, 20m seems to have some weird
propagation now.

On two consecutive QSOs, I worked VK7YP and OJ0SM, both on
five watts and the attic dipole from Pennsylvania.

I know Ludek is up--I think he worked Peter VK7YP just before I did.

Good luck to all.
