Re: Firecracker Question

Bernie and/or Jay,
The page says there's an award for each time zone. It also says about
the entry categories QRP, Low, and Medium power. I didn't see
anywhere if it said if that meant an award per time zone / per entry
category. Is that implied or did I waste my time running QRP? Or did
I just miss something again?

"waste my time running QRP"???? What are you talking about,
Jay? :-)

Re: 88 Endorsement

DL2AYL@...

Hi Jay,
Can't we include the other bands for the 88 endorsement?
10 meters as it is right now doesn't work for us to North America, so for us
Europeans is just 15 and 20 meters left, we'll not make it the next years on
three bands.

Re: 40m Sprint

Stephen Prior <smprior@...>

Looks like I had 28 contacts for the evening's work. Good fun and the
shorter amt of time was good for me .Ran out of steam at midnight CDT and
called it quits. Good to both coasts and alot in between.

Band was not "open" to N4ZUM so the "local streak" on 40 meters was broken
at 2 - TDW and FD.

Well, I guess 40m isn't broken after all, eh? I could only work the
last
two hours, but made 16 Q's so that wasn't too bad. How did the rest of you
guys do? Jay

I thought this was going to be a simple contest, I must have missed all little things, maybe still be tired from the road trip I just made, Well think it was great and you did a good job, I did forget to add my class and 070 number Sorry, maybe we need to add a lawyer to the 070 staff to review all the rules from now on !??! HI HI

Well it was great fun maybe we need to add a 80 meter sprint in 6 months ?? This was so much fun I would like to do it again soon.

Hey Jay (AA8QQ)

Yes, you count your own country and Canada as DX entities. If anyone has
already sent their logs in and failed to do this, I will change your final
score to reflect it.

Send your logs to kf4fhs@ywave.com

Great fun, and in bed by 0230. Fantastic!
Thanks & 73 to all,

Re: THANKS TO ALL

Dick Thompson <wb0dul@...>

Ditto!!!

After all the bitching I did about the short notification, I was able to get on after all. We went to daughter's home for dinner and I figured we wouldn't get back in time to participate. Well, XYL said she was tired and when we got home, she turned on the TV and fell asleep on the couch. I grabbed the opportunity.

We should make this an annual event and call it the Firecracker Sprint, and hold it on the first Saturday evening before or after the July 4th holiday.

It was fun. Now, if I could just learn how to hit the right macro button and keep Jay, N3DQU, from jumping all over the band trying to hide from me....

I had a bit of fun working 17 stations and 12 states on 40M. Never saw so much activity there. Wish the XYL's visitors had left earlier and I could have spent more time in the 'Test.

Let's do it again! Vy 73,

Sorry Steve,
I didn't mean to offend. Fergot we had a few QRP only stations out there in
the Eastern time zone. Guess I better not ask "where do I pick up the
tickets to Jamaica" just yet, eh? How'd you do?

Karen

I got in a hurry and marked you off the list here for the 88 endorsement and
forgot to hit the log button to save the info. Could I get the contact
information from you?

Please?

Doing real good on the 88 endorsement have you and Lovey already. OOPS both
of you on 40 meters and this is a tri-band award and 40 don't even count??
Well, guess I will be looking for you again on the only good bands, thanks
for the contact and be looking for you again on the other bands.

I can still use the contact for the sprint I guess.

Thanks

QRM hi! Yep, I think everyone had a good time with this one, so will take
your suggestion and make the 40m Firecracker Sprint an annual event. Tnx to

Hi All,

I second that - let's make the Firecracker 40 an annual affair. Pick the
Saturday closest to July 4th and keep the LOCAL time.

Maybe we'll have to keep working on that "cursor glue" formula to keep 'DQU
in one spot. Hmmmm, that's right up there with selective DX feedline diodes.

Thanks to all who traced my waterfall. The contest was a blast.

40 meters

Hello the name here is Ross (KE4BCN) 070 #151 I tried 40 meters for the first time last night to check out the antenna I just bought to see how it worked, I could not believe all the activity. Only stayed on for about an hour but did make 10 contacts.

rough) but we made it!

Your Trace on my waterfall was very strong. Your new antenna is doing a very
good job into Southern California.
I using a home made 37 ft fiberglass pole, with a 12 awg stranded single
conductor up the center.
It loads well on 40m.
The 40M Test sure was a lot of fun..
