Re: 2002 DX Specials

Some people think I'm always looking for "angles" and loopholes. IOne clarification, if I may ask: By Spain, do you mean DXCCHmmm....good question. Man, you are on the ball hi! Let's go for prefer to think of it as clarifying the requirements. Actually, that's part of my job, writing procurement specs so customers can buy what they need, and contractors know what's expected of them. It can be tricky to make sure that both sides interpret the same words in the same way! Besides, I'd rather get this clarification decided early, instead of letting it hang around for a long time, subject to debates, etc. Thanks for thinking about it. Maybe I'll be the only one who asks before you formally post the clarification. Steve

Hey, no mess here. I think Jay has come up with some decent choices here that will be achievable with reasonable efforts. There are lots of EA stations on the air, workable from the East Coast and Europe, and lots of JAs available from the West Coast and the Pacific. Steve W3HF

Suggested Frequencies by band for PSK31
Barry Rimmer
Hello fellow PSK31 lovers,
I have almost 500 PSK31 contacts, all on 10, 15, or 20 meters. I would like to add a few other bands to my contacts. Following is a list of frequencies by band where I think PSK31 activity is supposed to be. If anyone would like to email me directly or reply to this list giving input on frequencies by band, I will consolidate the list and repost it. I know we can operate at different frequencies within the bands, but I think if there were some more common frequencies for other than 10, 15, and 20 meters we might find more activity on these other bands. PSK31 USB dial Frequencies, usually 1500 Hz tone is center of activity. 160m 1812, 1838 80m 3580, 3582 40m 7035, 7037, 7070, 7072, 7076, 7080 30m 10130, 10138, 10139, 10142 20m 14070 17m 18100 15m 21070 12m 24920 10m 28120 6m 50290, 50590 2m 144140, 145510, 144520 73, Barry K4MG (please excuse the cross posting) Email: mailto:k4mg@arrl.net Hampage: http://www.qsl.net/k4mg ICBM: 24.6625N 81.4815W Quote: Wherever you go, there you are (you can't fool dgps)

Ok now that we have removed a few of the calls and know what we can work. I just started hearing the DL stations again so going to try and finish the DX-DL award, If the new awards work like the DX-DL one did I will nolonger hear any JA or EA stations for the next year. Soon as the DL award came out I did not hear any DL atations worked DL1AYL in the contest was the first staion I heard in her area after 4 July.

2002 DX Specials
N3DQU@...
The new DX Specials for the year 2002 are now posted up on the 070
endorsements webpage. A reminder too that the 2001 DX Specials are winding down so get out there and get them DL's and BV's in the log! Due to an apparent shortage of PSK ops in Taiwan, I've decided to award the BV SP to whomever has the most Taiwanese stations in the log...73 de Jay N3DQU.

This evening, I heard N3EQK, Ron, check into the 3905 Century Club Psk net from his Delaware QTH. He was plenty workable from California, but did not return calls later in the rotation. Might be worth contacting him via e-mail and arranging a sked. 73 de Bill KG6EXF

Hi Gang,
Tnx for all the replys and E-Mails. I just wanted to let you know that I received a nice E-Mail from Clarence KH7P in Hawaii who says he's often on PSK-31 and on 20MTRS around 23:00. He's offered to try and hook up with me next week. SO, anyone who wants to join in is more than welcome. Also, tnx for all the info on the Delaware stations too. I'm probably too close, but you never know. I waited a long time for VT, & MA then all of a sudden they were both there. 73 gang and Happy Holidays, CU on 20mtrs with HAwaii. Regards, Lenny K2LAM

John van Eijndt KC0DEB
Hello everyone,
I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and a Happy, Dxfull 2002! I'll be off the air for awhile (Involuntarily) during our vacation to the "Old Country", to spend the Holidays with the family in Holland. ( The rig I was planning to bring went haywire....) I will be visiting an old HAM friend of mine, and maybe we can sneak off to the shack to make some Q's on PSK31...hihi I'll keep you posted hr on the forum, if/when we can pull that one off.. Enjoy the Holidays, and I will see you all again in January! 73 de John KC0DEB _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.

I have seen (but unfortunately not worked) the following DE stations on 20m PSK: K3FSP KE3ZZ N3HND W3IJ I have also seen the "wrong" side of a QSO with KS3E KW3Z I emailed directly to Lenny, but I too would be interested in both DE and HI contacts on 20m PSK. And if we can't find anyone already IN Delaware, I've considered a mini-DXpedition there to give all you folks some QSOs. The DE border is about 50 miles away from home here, so it wouldn't be too bad. I'd rather wait until the weather is a little warmer, though, as I might have to set up in the outdoors. I could take a laptop and the PSK-20 pretty easily, and maybe string up a dipole. As for Montana, Erika, you might try N7LT. Lyndel is a friend who would be willing to run a sked. AE7RN is a new-to-PSK op (I was his first QSO a few weeks ago). KC7YGI and KD7FVR have also been seen, though many months ago. 73, Steve W3HF
K3FSP from DE is active on PSK, was just on 20 meters. His e-mail
