PSKFEST experiences
Costas Krallis SV1XV <sv1xv@...>
Well, I managed 110 QSOs with 47 multipliers (15 US states,
1 VE province, 31 DXCC including W&VE). Worked all bands from 3.5 - 28. Very few europeans showed up on 7035, while I worked 3 north americans on 7070. Less productive periods were: 00:00 - 01:00, 02:30-04:00 and 21:45-23:59. Interesting participants (from my "point of view"): HF0POL VP8 IOTA AN-010 QSL: SQ5TA FK8BG FK IOTA OC-032 QSL: ???? (*) EM1KCC CE9 IOTA AN-006 QSL: UT7UA ZD8JA ZD8 IOTA AF-003 QSL: ??? WA4MIT AL KC0IFL MO Unfortunately VQ9NL in Diego Garcia who was active in PSK31, did not participate. Worst problem: Stations replying to a CQ CONTEST call and, when passed the contest exchange, returning their "my name is..." tape and then, if asked for the contest exchange, replying "sorry - no contest". See you again next year! 73 Costas SV1XV (*) Not contest participant but replied to CQ-contest and passed RST+Country info +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Costas Krallis SV1XV * LOC KM18UA | | P.O.Box 3066 * E-Mail: sv1xv@eexi.gr | | GR-10210 Athens * PGP key: 0x3BDBBC34 | | GREECE * http://www.qsl.net/sv1xv/ | +------------------------------------------------------------+

Lenny, seems you had a DL2AYL-filter for 20
meters.. called you - no chance.
Jay, for 10 meters you'll have to go up earlier.

Hej guys over there, time for your appearance ! We also had EM1KCC from CE9/IOTA AN-006 and ZD8JA in the PSKFEST. Did you notice any other exotic callsigns? Also, VQ9NL was active in PSK-31 (I had a QSO which I did not enter in the Contest Logs) but he did not take part in the Contest. BTW I have faced two problems: 1. too many replies to CQ CONTEST by non participant, who must be then guided how to give the proper contest exchange 2. Lots of non-standard exchanges: Russia as either RA and RU. Italy as "I", "ITA" and "Italy", Greece as "Greece" and "SV", Asiatic Russia as "AR" and "RU9" etc. In my logs I intend to replace non-standard prefixe exchanges with the ones specified in the DXCC booklet. Here's an idea...
Charlie Trice <k8ij@...>
Say here's an idea...
I feel RST in a contest is a waste of bits.
Most everyone sends 599 each QSO.
We're a friendly bunch - why not use our names in
the 070 club contests?

No, uh - let's be FESTive?
Have fun and I hope to see you all.

If you're looking for Hawaii, 2 or 3 KH's hang out on 10 meters pretty regularly. Evillo, KH6DRT is on nearly every day. Good luck in the contest. 73, Bernie / KF4FHS

PSKFEST - Getting Ready
hamopcq
Hello All,
Is everyone getting ready?. Took the day off (Friday), but spent half of it in the stores with the XYL. The things guys have to do just to get into a contest...hihi. Bands don't look so hot on the East Coast. Now, if only Hawaii would show up on 20mtrs....hmmmm. That would make my day. See you all later...I hope.. Lenny K2LAM

Hey PSKers! If you're looking for a logging program to run thePSKFest with this weekend, suggest you check out W3KM's Gen Log. Check it out at <Hi Jay, Just loaded this software down and from what I see, looks pretty good. I'll have to 'play' with it a little. CU tomorrow night!. Regards, Lenny K2LAM
