GM All-

I must have the "magic" touch . . . this morning after one 40 meter QSO
the power supply to the ts440 at K3VOA went belly up! I have to go look
for another now as this also runs a packet station here as well.

I expect to fire up the home qth rig for tonight's sprint . . . as long as
I don't burnup that one too (hi hi) Always Something!

Chris,
Why don't you set up a portable PSK station on one of them there real tall
rolly coasters? I wonder, would that cause QSB?

Ah,Milos Tea.....
Bernie, it is the Holy Grail,of non-alcoholic beverages. One more
reason to live in AL.
Looking forward to the 40M sprint tonight. Great idea, and the format
really is a fair way to get everyone involved.
So what if it a spur of the moment idea--that's why I bought the
FT817,and made up a portable kit--to get on the air whenever, and where ever.
I 'll type real slow, and use big letters for Bernie!

Jay, do we use normal local time or summer time?

I guess it is Summer Time, which is UTC+3 (instead
of the UTC+2 normal) for me, so I shall start the
contest at 1700 UTC.

Re: 40m Sprint question

Dick Thompson <wb0dul@...>

No. Mainly because of the short notice, Bernie. It's a great idea, but with my wife off work this weekend I don't want to tell her I can't go somewhere because I'm in a PSK contest. Maybe in the late summer or early Fall?

You decide, and whatever the majority wants is fine with me.

How many are planning on playing in the 40 meter sprint.

All you need to do is reply to this email and type yes or no, or add any
comments you would like.

I'm just trying to find out how everyone feels about it.

Thanks & 73,

Trial run tonight? Test those rigs and antennas?

J. Ken Wirsing <radioguy@...>

Hey, from the number of emails it looks like the sprint is a swell idea!

I'm going to fire this thing up on 40m tonight and see if I can get
some PSK into the ether about 2100 hrs EDT for a while.
Anyone else interested? If you're going to get some old coax
hooked up to that "zig-zag periodic" antenna that you've not used
on 40m for a while, tonight might be a nice test run.

Let's Rumble! (Oh, no, oops, that's another contest.) :-))

40 meter sprint

Bob <VE4XA@...>

Great to have the discussions going. it's about the only time I get emails
that are not trying to sell me something!!!
I will make an attempt at 40 meters with a Hustler mobile antenna, or my
totally out of tune MFJ-xxx vertical!

So, look for XM4XA on 40 ..will be interesting as I have not done anything
on 40 for 25 years!!

My operating will be totally dependant upon the weather as we have had
several days of major lightening storms, including another 2 1/2 inches of
rain (63mm) again last night in about two hours. The price we pay for
living in the mostly frozen north..when the ice and snow melt it comes down
as liquid.

See you all.

Oh and bye the way..thx for the organizers..isn't life wonderful!!!

Lokalzeit in Deutschland.

Jay N3DQU
