Re: Non-windows programs.

Peter Baskind <pbaskind@...>

Speaking of non-Win PSK programs...

Is there a program about that will run on a Mac? My mother and I just went
in together and bought my brother, WA4CB in Pensacola, a FT-817. He is
itching to get on PSK, but only has an iBook (one of my old machines, as a
matter of fact). He hasn't been able to find a suitable program.

Once he gets on PSK, we won't be able to get rid of him. It'll be WA4CB on
the waterfall everytime we turn on the radio (well, not so much for me...
he's a bit close for reliable 20m; I have only worked him a couple of
times). But, that's OK -- everyone needs another FL contact; it's such a
tough state to work! :)

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Rick,
Yea! I believe there is still a DOS version available from the PSK31
site at http://www.aintel.bi.ehu.es/psk31.html good luck in the venture,

like to operate some portable and mobile (while wife

without installing it into windows. I could save data
but no install

I know it's September, not August, but I'm considering a mini-
DXpedition to somewhere in Delaware. I would like to know if there's
any interest in that among the club members, for WAS purposes or
other.

My station would be the same as I used on the APE to NC, the
Yaesu FT-817 (five watts) and the vertical antenna. (Of course, I will
have to figure out why the station didn't work in Florida first!)

I'm not sure of a location yet, but I figure I could find a park or
something.

This would only last a few hours, probably on a weekend. A
possibility might be during the QRP ARCI End of Summer PSK
Sprint next Sunday afternoon (2000z to 2400z). Note that the
contest is 20m only. I could possibly be on the other bands earlier,
assuming I got my act together, but not before 1800z. I would be
tearing down the station and starting the drive home soon after the
contest ends.

Please let me know if this is something that would be of interest to
the club. Thanks.

Re: SPE?

Hey Steve,
Would you maybe consider spending the weekend. Sounds like a bunch of people
need DE. Also, I've tried working DE on 20 meter SSB with 100 watts on both
ends and couldn't get a completed QSO. I hope you can work the low bands for
those of us close in, within a couple of states. Maybe PSK will be easier...
I sure hope so.

Re: SPE?

brmccain <brmccain@...>

Steve:

A "DE-xpedition" would likely generate more pileups than many actual
DX entities. My ARRL WAS PSK31 award is dated May 16, 2002, and I got
it with only one psk qsl card from Delaware: Hayes, K3FSP, in
Milford, DE on 20 meters on March 30, 2002.

BTW: for Jay needing West Virginia: try Buford, KB8QLG, or Dick,
N8JC. I see both on 14.070 quite often and have qsl cards from both.

Let us know time and place, and I'll be sure to add you to the dx
packet cluster :)
