Re: Multiple Soundcard setting saver

Hi Jay,

I use macros and this soundcard utility program to quickly set the soundcard to the levels required by different modes .... it is called "quickmix". A freebie ... this is the download page.

Bob AA0BW brought up a good idea last night when we were playing
around on PSK and MFSK16. I told him that I hate when I switch from
PSK to MFSK16 because the MFSK16 program wants less audio in from the
rig/soundcard so I always have to change my settings and mess with
things to get it right and many times missing much of a first pat of
is tx. So Bob AA0BW said he just loaded a software program that will
save your settngs and you just save your soundcard settings for a
particular mode or software and name it (like ..PSK Setting, MFSK16
Setting, JT44 Setting or Maybe TX QRP setting.etc.). This really
would be handy and thought it should be shared with the group. Go
here and take a look:

Here is an unsolicited testimonial from a Quickmix user:

I have an FM receiver card in my shack computer and used to say "bad
things" everytime I had to redo the soundcard settings for Digipan. Now, ever
since I've started using Quickmix, changing soundcard settings is a snap! I
no longer say "bad things" and my wife and kids are not afraid to come around
me anymore when I fire up Digipan. Not only that, but my hair has started
growing back and my feet don't smell near as bad either! I recommend Quickmix
to all my ham friends! Thank you Quickmix! Mr. N*DQU, Pennsylvania.

Hi, yesterday I managed to repair my HF trap vertical antenna.
The problem was a short in the toroidal ballon at the base of

Re: Paperwork Rec'd in Alabama

Bernie <kf4fhs@...>

Hey Steve,

Glad you liked the cert. Since it was goin to AL, I wasn't sure wheather to
send it via USPS or Pony Express, but I figgered there was probably a mail
train went thru there at least once a month, so you'd get it before the 80m
sprint started :-)

Great on gettin your 80m war stretched. I worked a feller in AL from here
in WA on 80m QRP one night. Maybe we can hook up in the Sprint, stranger
things have happened.

Congrats on winning the cert & 73,
Bernie / KF4FHS

Thanks Bernie - very nice certificate! I'll find a proper place on the wall
here in the shack to display - however the XYL may have other opinions but
when I am on the radio I am not running the streets!!
Expect to hang the 80 M dipole out this weekend and see what I can do for
the next contest.
( yes the mail is delivered here in AL!)

Andy <ve9dx@...>

Karen and all,
The only thing I can add is that I now have over 40 countries on 30 PSK
and I have found all of them on or around 10.140 (USB).
There was lots of qrm on the bottom edge. Needless to say, I would
prefer to stay up in the 10.140 area but I will go with the flow.
I will be on 10.140 + around 0 hours GMT again tonight.
Thanks for the 80 meter contact Karen. My first PSK qso on 80. Really
not sure where everyone hangs out but I will be there more often after
Oct 1.
My wife and I leave here Aug 24, driving towards VE7 the Canadian route
and back the US route arriving home about Oct 1..

Re: W3HF/4 - 30m

Karen Russo <w4gtm@...>

Hi Luis-
I worked Andy on 10.100. He was my first contact on 30m.
The IARU proposed frequency list recommends 10.142.15 for
region 1 with differences for region 2 and 3. The list states PSK31
to concentrate acitivity starting from the bottom edge of the IARU
RTTY bandplan, expanding upwards as acitivity increased.
If anyone else has input re: PSK frequencies please feel free.

Hi Karen, Which frequencies work for PSK in 30m??
Thank.

Most of the PSK activity on 30m has centered around 10.140, but I have
worked guys as far down as 10.135! Jay N3DQU

I also worked Steve on 40m at 0308utc. We tried 30m,
but
no copy. Worked VE9DX - Andy on 30m, who helped
relay.
Then went QSY to 80m and worked VE9DX again. I think
he
needed 80m U.S. contact. Steve was unable to tune up
on 80.

Tnx Andy for the nice contacts. 73 - Karen W4GTM
