It was challenging.  Got on at 0030 and gave up about 0215.  At this QTH 40m was closed for all practial purposes.  80m was a nightmare of QRN with lots of static that ebbed and flowed and plenty of crashes.  I didn't have a 160m antenna up so not sure how that was for others.  I've submitted my meager 13 Qs.  The uploader worked FB!  Thank you David!

Absolutely right Paula!  Family first!  Congrats on your anniversary and Happy Birthday to your grandson. Hope to work you, but I think it will be kind of iffy.  I'll be looking though.

I thought I would be home all day Friday, but it turns out I was invited to breakfast on my anniversary AND, it is also my grandson’s birthday! Sooooo, I will only be on Thursday evening and Friday early afternoon. I’ll try to hand out some YL points, but unfortunately early morning is the best time to reach me on 40 meters. So sorry guys, but family wins out. I’ll do my best though!

Thanks for all the hard work you folks are doing to keep the club alive.  I appreciate it.  I really like the contests and endorsements.  Chasing 366 now.  Still have about 50 days to catch; most of January when I travel a lot.

The 070 Club will survive, but progress is slow, be patient with all of us.

Re: Where were you?

Rick - N7WE

At this QTH, the PSK portion of 20, 40, and 80 was overwhelmed with RTTY contesters.  Lots of them run full legal limit which makes PSK virtually impossible - even with the 400 Hz. roofing filter engaged.  I was able to get one QSO both Friday and Saturday to keep the daily run going.  Last night after the contest ended it was easy to make a PSK QSO.  Gentlemen's agreement band plan notwithstanding, RTTY is legal in our portion of the band, so it is just grin and bear it until the contest is over.  One thing I didn't see though was FT-8 in our segments!

Heh – you used me for the example! I’m flattered! I will be on that day – last year was my 25th Wedding anniversary so I was celebrating. This year we are celebrating a day early to avoid the crowds, so I’ll be home to work the Sprint. Unfortunately, unlike past years when I had the hexbeam, I will only be able to work 40 meters, and with a quick stick dipole in a fixed position just 10 feet off the ground. I should be able to get some of you though – I will sure give it the old college try! I will try to be on as much as possible during operating hours to give out as many YL points as possible. Good luck everyone!

Shouldn’t the end time be Friday February 14 – 6:59 p.m. EST?
