Hello ALL,

At  19:20 UTC on 17m  (  18.100 MHz USB ),  there were numerous digital stations operating on 3/17 (Tues.).

Can someone please determine what exact digital mode, these 20 stations are operating.

I tried to decode them without any success.  Please get back to me direct or on the reflector.

Have not operated digital in over a few years now..

Thanks !

Being all alone out here on the West Coast and a big attenuator to my East (mountain), it is easier for me to work Asia and Oceania than Minnesota.
40 Meters has been outstanding from sun up till about noon.
The evil digital mode (FT8 😉 ) is full of JA's, BA's, DU's, KL7's and KH6's.

Looking at 40m right now and seeing a bunch of activity. Saw a station in MN and one in ND which is a bit unusual. May be a sign of better things to come. ..I hope !

Propagation seems better in last couple days, too. If guys can find signals they'll operate PS.

Also, I am working an FT817ND on 40 Meters QRP during the late afternoon hours. I am having a bit of luck working a few PSK contacts, Listen up for me I would appreciate it.

Kind of doing what's left of my job

Jerry N9AVY

All endorsements have been sent to checker as of today, BUT I am still unable to send them on to convert to stickers. There is a major glitch in software up at checker page. Whether anyone will ever get their applied for stickers is beyond me. When I try to approve for stickers all I get is "Software Error" and that stops me cold. We kind of knew something like this was going to happen in March, but it started in mid-February.

Hopefully, our hard working staff is working on resolving all the problems with the changeover of software from KJ4IZW.

Thanks for hanging there !

I'm seeing a ton of traffic right now with these calls on 20 meters.   Any idea what this is?

QRZ down ?

Jerry N9AVY

Yup , it was down here all morning and just came back about an hour ago. My guess is that they were doing maintenance/upgrades as the page looked a bit different. Also, since many people have self-quarantined themselves, might think a lot more than usual are tying up internet surfing , watching movies, etc. The internet , as cell networks, will slow down with heavy traffic.

Meanwhile, I ran out this morning to grab mail at P.O. Box and the only thing was April issue of QST. Back home and finally looked at last year or so of QSLs stacked here. So, I filed them somewhat alpha-numerically. Also mailed out about 15 to Buro. Siting home and not going much of anywhere is boring which means the last 20 years of "I'll get to it later" projects may actually get done !

St Patrick’s Day Contest – Heads Up! One week away...

stan W9SMR

The Ø7Ø Club St Patrick’s Day Contest is just 1 week away -

Saturday, March 21 - 0000 UTC (Friday, March 20 - 8:00 p.m. EDT )

to Saturday, March 21 – 2359 UTC (Saturday, March 21 – 6:59 p.m. EDT )

This is a 1 day, 24 Hour event – Friday evening and Saturday in US.

Work as many stations as possible in the allotted time using PSK31 mode only.

Work each station once per band. (Same station, same band, is a dupe!)

Open to all licensed radio amateurs. Using 160M thru 6M (No WARC Bands).

Maximum Power 50W regardless of Band

Exchange:
Callsign,  RST  and  State/Province/Country (SPC)    eg: “W9SMR  599  FL”

Call: “CQ 070 St Pat’s Contest”

BONUS POINTS: Spell “Erin Go Bragh” using the first letter in the call suffix. See Contest Rules for details.

For Rules and detailsClick Here:  St. Patrick's Rules

All entry logs
must be received within 1 week after the event ends.

A “St Patricks Day Uploader”  Link has been made available on the PODXS 070 Homepage.

With 6 bands to choose from, you can optimize your luck with propagation. It is helpful to post your intentions to QSY on the Reflector. Also, be sure to use PSKReporter and to Spot calls seen. Go ahead and Self-Spot! Let folks know you are listening. CALL CQ!!

With the added challenge of spelling “Erin Go Bragh”, your progress on the Work The World (WTW) Endorsement is enhanced. And new members will make great strides on the LONP!!

Let’s see if you are one of the Lucky Irish. Go for that Pot ‘O Gold!
