There is a dedicated group that is working diligently to keep the club intact, but it is a slow process. Putting together a team to perform the mailing duties is in progress. With over 2700 members, you can imagine what a task putting together all the endorsement and other stickers and getting them into the mail.

You would be amazed to know how much of our website is tied to hamclubs.info, and google docs.  The process to become a member involves several cgi scripts, google api's, and spreadsheets.  In early 2020, the Google is deprecating the API that is currently used to connect the website to google docs, this means that anything on our website that requires access to the data that is stored in Google docs will no longer work.  This will shut down membership application submission/processing/approving, all of the endorsement checking, all tracking of members award receipts, just about everything you can imagine involving the club.

A team of VOLUNTEERS is working to develop the software needed to divorce ourselves from using Google docs. The endorsement checker is the first of many programs to be reworked.  Our goal is go eventually get it all into a database instead of spreadsheets.  We could definitely use a database person as a member of the team.

A reminder to all:  The club members working on these issues are all volunteers.  This means that the time they have available to work on the project is constrained by the time needed for their jobs, their families, and other life issues.  Not one person in the club receives any compensation for performing their duties.  They do it for the love of the club, ham radio, PSK-31, and all the members.

Re: 30 meters

Don_KB9UMT

Thanks Brian and Dan for the PSK try on 10.142 30 meters!  I too was not able to make any PSK QSOs Sunday night but did see a few light traces but no replies back to me that decoded well (a 6 call tried twice).

I hope others interested in keeping PSK alive and not only active on 20 and 40 meters which I still see some PSK activity but on 30 meters as well which is a great band for digital modes with great propagation setting between 20 and 40 meters.  I will continue to try to promote PSK to the 30MDG or anyone for 30 meter use but my fear is seeing the FT8 or FT4 signals coming up higher that soon with no PSK activity at 10.142 it will become like 17 meters and no more PSK on 30 meter band.

Thanks again for trying and maybe we will see more activity for PSK in 2020.

Congrats to new member YO4BEW, # 2717

stan W9SMR

New member Fane, YO4BEW, # 2717 is blazing an impressive trail though the Endorsement credits.

A member only since December 18, he has obviously been very active on PSK-31 since at least 2011. Evidence of that shows that even though he has not yet logged a QSO with fellow members of 070 since his joining, he has racked up an impressive list of Endorsements. Those include the difficult WTW which requires 2,246 very specific QSOs and multiple DX and IOTA awards.

His recent upload of 26,056 QSOs is impressive. What took him so long to join us?

Note that many of our endorsement credits apply to your entire logbook even before you joined up.

So, give Fane a boost for his LONP by grabbing him when you see him on the waterfall.

And upload those logs!!

Stan

Upload your Log to Endorsement Checker

stan W9SMR

Upload your Log to the Endorsement Checker

Members, with the impending temporary disablement of our Endorsement Checker site, it is highly recommended that you make a full upload of your log of all PSK contacts before December 31. This will ensure that you have established a baseline of your accomplishments prior to any possible delay or shutdown.

If you are not familiar with this process, here is how to do this.

UPLOAD YOUR LOG to the HamClubs Endorsement checker at:    Ham Clubs Endorsement Checker

For the Endorsement Checker to work properly, you must upload your entire log each time you upload, not just a recent increment. Note that uploads for Contest Scoring are not transferred to the Endorsement Checker.

Enter your Callsign in the box on the left. Click CHOOSE FILE and Browse to your most recent and complete ADIF log. Select it and click UPLOAD.

Click REFRESH at the top of the logs listing and when your log has completed upload, click on your callsign. This will take you to the OFFICIAL 070 Award Progress for your callsign.

REVIEW YOUR PROGRESS

The AWARD PROGRESS window includes 6 categories: 070 Endorsements, 070-LONP, 070-WTW, 070-GRIDS, 070-24x7 and 070-365. Check out each category to see how you are progressing in each area.

In the Endorsement category, click on the HAVE and TARGET scores to see where you are and where you need to go to finish the award.

If you encounter difficulties in making your upload and checking your status, you may contact me at: robinstan@...

Or click “Email The Help Desk” on the Home page http://www.podxs070.com/email-the-help-desk

Or Post your question on the “070 Email Reflectors”
