Congrats Lee!  2019 RC Top Dawg is an awesome achievement and well deserved by your year-long performance in the contests.  Also saw that you completed WTW during TDW.  That too is a real milestone of endorsements - takes 2246 distinct Qs to do that - one of the REALLY BIG endorsements!  Not sure which one is the most prestigious, but to do them both is outstanding.  Again, well deserved Congrats!

Why I don't care for ft-8.

Noted on an other forum, an op using ft8 said his computer achieved DXCC, but it wasn't much fun for him.

My feelings exactly. Same goes for proctored ham exams.

Yeah you can do it that way, but how far down the pike will a prospective ham have to do nothing more than mail in his address and $15.00 and wait for the license to arrive?

73 to all,

Well exactly what benefit to 1010 are all those FT8 contacts. Without
the exchange of information there will be no new members and if you are
honest no new awards. Next round the CW ops will no longer exchange data
but look it up and then the ssb ops will do the same and 58 years will
go down the tube all for the sake of contacts alone. Maybe if we do like
the QCWA and not allow anyone access to the 1010 number or personal info.

I made 25 PSK contacts and since Sunday is a short day could have made more.

Congratulations LONP

Jim K5SP

The following members have provided evidence of 100 QSO's using PSK-31 and are now members of the LONP:

KB9UMT - LONP #432

W4BZM - LONP #433

WJ4HCP - LONP #434

Congratulations to each of you for this accomplishment.  You are now members of the LONP fraternity, and only 434 out of the current 2771 members have received this endorsement!

Again my apologies for the incorrect announcements.  The queue was messed up, software issues.  One of the members announced yesterday actually earned LONP in 2009, and somehow reappeared in the queue.

Re: Eqsl confirmations ?

Let's not forget those "special event stations" who were worked under their special event call and Eqsl'd under their home calls which they were only required to give out once an hour. That really bugged me and I had a few "go rounds" with those guys.

Was almost tempted to work them under my DX Call sign - UF0OL ! ha-ha !

A few are simple "not in log"; some of these are days when I wasn't on the air (maybe a busted call) or a station that didn't realize I was working someone else.

The ones that bug me (as I think Jerry has pointed out) are the folks who get a new callsign and then upload their WHOLE log under the new account. I can't tell if maybe they've configured their logging software incorrectly to result in this. Those always get a "you weren't <new callsign> at the time so I can't confirm this QSO" reply.

I check ALL of my eQSL’s to make sure they are in the log on the date, time, band, mode, etc in question and if not then they are rejected.

I’ve had a few where they got the band or the mode wrong and I would send them an email, not giving any information but letting them know that it was incorrect to double check their log and most of the time they come back with the correct info.

Have had a few I've rejected over the past few months... mostly from Europe.  One station claimed he worked me 25 April .. wasn't even on the air that day.   Think there are some who "think" they worked a station, but in reality the heard what they "thought" was the station working them , but the station was in QSO with a different station.

Guess I'll be checking Eqsl now closer than ever.  Still prefer LoTW because it's nearly impossible for that sort of thing to happen.   LoTW has been down here since 22 Jan 2020, but am working at getting it up and running again.  Had to get a new certificate.

So, now the numbers are messed up. I will correct these and re-issue the new LONP members with correct numbers.

Boh KB3MOW & KG7STV have been stuck in LONP queue for a year or more as was KB1PSP. There was no way I could get rid of them. Sorry.

My complaints & calls for help went unanswered.

Um.  Ok, thanks.  But I got LONP in early April 2016, number 357.  Had to look it up to be sure...

I hate to appear ungrateful, but I got LONP # 109 back in December of 2008. No doubt the new call sign played a part. I no longer hold the call KB3MOW. I replaced that with my late Brother's call, K1DJE.
