I Tend to  think you must have performed outstandingly as a one man Welcome Wagon.
and done an outstanding sell job of the club to the new members. If it wasn't for your salesmanship they may never have joined.
Keep bringing them in and growing the flock my friend.

Jerry, I was just jesting about Jim’s comment. Being new to the Groups.io system, I didn’t realize it didn’t appear as a response directly to Jim. – Doug N4AHO

Doug:

Feldhell/Hellschreiber is an 80% duty cycle mode. If you're running a 100 watt rig, you need to run around 60 watts . If you add the other 20 watts it won't make much difference. Only doubling the 60 watts would show any improvement at the other end. Also check you SWR. Both will cause finals to overheat and will eventually damage them. When you run digital modes you need to be aware of duty cycle for that mode and of your transmitter.

Learned my lesson by using solid state amplifier with too much power input. Cost me $500 for 4 new transistors !

I run Feldhell/Hellschreiber using about 50 watts and it seems to work out.

Tracking problem with MixW

Jerry N9AVY

Noticed on 20m that when I call a station he usually answers a Hertz or 2 lower on band. Remembered I had same problem a few years ago. Had to go into configuration settings : Sound Drive Settings and change sample rate from 11025 to 12000. That was the fix. So if anyone using MixW is having same problem that's what you need to do.
