Hey folks, 30 meters is wide open in the US – and I’m sure that many of us need some more contacts for the 30 on 30 endorsement. I currently have 22, and am looking for those last 8. I just worked Randy after he opened a chat for 30 meters, and am monitoring that chat for a while yet. Currently calling on 10.140.65. Most of my contacts have been between 22:00 and 23:59 UTC so this is prime time. See you on 30!

Re: Tri-Warc Award

My <AUTOCQ> message lasts for 7 seconds.
My pause between <AUTOCQ>'s is currently set for 10 seconds.
That gives a listening station a total of 17 seconds to see my trace, click on it and decide if they want to answer.
If they're slow on the mouse, and miss the 10 pause, then it's a simple max time of 7 seconds of cq until it pauses again.
Even in one of our operating event scenario's, with a shorter pause time between cq's, it's still pretty simple.

Paring that down to ‘cq cq de w7pfb pse k’ gets it down to seven seconds.

If you’re calling every 10 seconds how can you hear when someone responds?

No, I don’t think you have a problem.  But you’re calling CQ probably every 20-25 seconds, not 10.

I do get frustrated when someone calls CQ, I go to respond, and before I can hit the button, they’re calling CQ again.

Not the best, but could be worse.
Two Dixie cups and a 1/4 wave length piece of string anyone?

I set AutoCQ  and called for 25 minutes.  Nothing at all in my waterfall here in North Texas.

It takes me 13 seconds to transmit ‘cq cq cq de W7PFB cq pse k’.

Paring that down to ‘cq cq de w7pfb pse k’ gets it down to seven seconds.

If you’re calling every 10 seconds how can you hear when someone responds?

I called every 10 sec for 10 minutes and apparently was not seen.  I got my award in the good times when the sunspots were just a-poppin.

Keep announcing when you are on and if I can I will try to give you a contact if I am available.

Was calling CQ at about 24.921 from 1800 UTC to about 1807.   Had a brief trace in response, but not enough to decode.  Will be down on 17 for a bit if someone still needs that band for Tri-Warc.
