Re: KC3EF Winter Road Trip
Thanks Dick! You had a great signal and I really appreciate that you took time
out from your vacation to make the contact. I'm glad you spotted
some good birds as well. Best f luck for you and your wife on the
rest of your trip! I get my second vaccine Sunday and I hope to be able to hit the road this spring and activate some grids so I can reciprocate. Thanks again! You rock! 73 Eric, KG6MZS

We connected and conditions between LA and CA were really good. Had a nice QSO and then stopped to do some bird watching and spotted over 1000 Greater Scaup out in the gulf and a Wimberl on the shore. Good radio and bird start to the day.

The trip was almost derailed when we got to Arkansas, the xyl saw two snow plows which traumatized her. But she did recover and we are now in Galveston. Should be going back thru LA on the way home and will hit EL59 for anyone that still needs that grid (N7WE). 73 Dick - KC3EF

2021 RC3 Championship Standings – Valentine Sprint
stan W9SMR
The intense competition for Top Dawg in the 2021 Rollo Cup Contest Championship (RC3) has begun, with Steve, VA3TPS, bumped to 2nd place as Darin, KO4EJD takes over after his Top Dawg finish in the Valentine Sprint. The table below shows the Top Ten finishers following the PSKFest and Valentine Sprint. We will long remember the intense battle between Lee, N5SLY, winner of the 2019 award and John, KC3FL for the 2020 RC3 Top Dawg. They now occupy places #3 and #4 as we get started in the 2021 Contest competitions. Do not count either one of these skilled contesters out!! We have 8 PODXS-070 Contests on the calendar yet to be fought out. Let the battle continue!
The Top Dawg in the Rollo Cup Contest Championship will receive a special certificate, a Rollo Dog Tag, and an Engraved Silver Revere Cup Trophy. Check out your standing on the full Leader Board for RC3 following the Valentine Sprint at: RC3 Leaderboard And get ready for our next Contest, St. Patrick’s Day Contest. 20 March 2021 - 0000 UTC – 2359 UTC This contest includes all bands 160M to 6M (no WARC). Results, + Awards Checker...2021 Valentine Sprint - RESULTS
Good job by everybody, and thank you for submitting your logs. Regardless of the # of contacts, or final score, submitting your log is a way of telling club management, "Thank you for putting on this operating event (contest), I was here!"
On another note, I'm trying to drum up some LONP business, 2786 >.
Have you added your Valentine Sprint log to your main log? Have you submitted that to the club's Award Checker?
Your accomplishments during this rising sun spot cycle will definitely be recognized.

Conditions were challenging with RTTY contest QRM and lots of QSB and QRN. Despite that, we had 36 logs submitted, up from last year’s 32 logs. There were 9 High Power, 18 Medium Power, 8 Low Power and 1 QRP logs submitted. We were honored to have 3 YLs participate. Special thanks to YL's Mary, KC4TIE, #919 (32 QSOs); Leslie, WA4EEZ, #359, (9 QSOs); and Sherri, WB4OSU, #2601, (8 QSOs). Several lucky OM's got 4 YL points thanks to your participation. Thank you all for joining in.
Top Dawg and 1st in High Power was Darin, KO4EJD of Crestview, FL, with a record making 1050 points. Darin finished in 2nd place in the January PSKFest. He’s hot on the trail of the 2021 RC3 Championship.
High Power - Second Place was John, KC3FL, of Inverness FL with 874 points. John was the RC3 Champ in 2020. Third Place was Steve, VA3TPS of Fenelon Falls, ON with 765 points. Steve was Top Dawg in the 2021 PSKFest.
Medium Power - First place was Lee, N5SLY with 836 points. Lee is always a top competitor. He was RC3 Champ in 2019, runner-up in 2020.
Medium Power - Second Place was Stan, W9SMR of Sarasota, FL with 738 points. Third Place went to YL Mary, KC4TIE of Benton, KY with 592 points.
Low Power – First Place was Keith, N9VEL of Temple, GA, with 364 points.
Low Power – Second Place was Jim, K5SP, of Gainesville, TX, with 264 points. Good that Jim found a few minutes away from his PODXS Executive Director post to enjoy the waterfall. Third Place, was John, KG5OIB of Decatur, TX with 253 points.
QRP category, 1st Place went to frequent top finisher Peter, NN9K with 405 points. Peter finished first in QRP in the last year’s Valentine Sprint, St. Patrick’s, Firecracker, Jay Hudak 80M and PSKFest. I don’t know how one can do that under today’s challenging conditions.
The new “All Amateurs Welcome” policy continues to enhance our overall experience. We had only one non-member submitting a log. A note of appreciation to non-member AG7CC, Cliff, of Clarkston, WA who participated and uploaded his log. We have seen him in prior PODXS-070 Contests and we look forward to welcoming him as a member soon.
Note that the Top Dawg Certificate and Rollo Dog Tag will be reserved exclusively for members.
Thanks to all who submitted logs. Stickers will be in the next mailing. We are deeply indebted to David, K9DWR who scored this contest and provided the rapid log upload response. Complete results will be uploaded to the Groups.io 070 Reflector websites.
It is time to start thinking about participating in the St. Patrick’s Day Contest.
20 March 2021 - 0000 UTC – 2359 UTC

Re: Congrats - PODXS 070 Endorsements – February 2021
Paul, thanks for your patience and I apologize for not replying sooner.
The date for 070-2786 is 2020-07-08, (WA8UMT).
For a full list please go to: Member Files (podxs070.com)
In the case of some kind of a major catastrophe, there are several members that maintain their own list.
Of note, should you care to keep up with these things, be sure you use the "Membership Date" as the date listed on this spreadsheet, NOT the date of the email announcing the new member.
The info I need to check/validate your >2786 contacts is:
DATE: TIME: CALL: BAND: MODE: 070 #:
We're really trying to make this as easy as we can. Submit your log to the awards checker. Your earned awards will be picked up by Jerry, including your LONP credits up to 070-2786.
Then, in the above format, submit to me all of your 070 members worked with a date LATER than 2020-07-08.
Of course, those membership numbers will be 070-2786 and higher.
I hope this answers your question. More questions? Bring 'em!
73,
Milt.
