Attaboys

N3DQU@...

Just to let you guys know that I've started sending out the Rumble
Attaboys yesterday...I can only make them in small batches, then have to
spray them with a coat of acrylic because the flourescent surface does not
take inkjet well. Hopefully I will get them all out before the TDW (Three Day
Weekend) hi! Jay.

Re: 15 meters open yesterday!

They maybe hope for the bands yet.

Hope everyone is going to make the June 070 contest at least for a little
while.
I should be there often, working on the kitchen pass now to be sure
everything is clear so I can talk to as many of you as I can,

Steve

MixW 2.0 program

n1zzz@...

Here is the web address for MixW v2.0 beta.  It is a great program.  It has
all of the great features of Digipan with a lot more versatility, and it has
nearly all of the soundcard digital modes out there.  It is definitely worth
the look.

070 TDW MAX Scores

spdomingue@...

Just something to shoot for:

Here is the max score you could get should we only have 75 members and you
work them all:

9 bands 55,125
8 bands 49,000
7 bands 42,875
6 bands 36,750
5 bands 30,625
4 bands 24,500
3 bands 18,375
2 bands 12,255
And if W3HF does not get the new radio his score could be 6,125 for just 20
meters.

The bands I used was 160, 80, 40, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6 meters.

Well guess I have too much time on my hands and just playing around, So hope
to see you all out here on the 070 TDW event,

Have fun N6YIH/7

Re: 070 TDW MAX Scores

spdomingue@...

Well, the rules said even the WARC bands (NO 30m)
So that's why I added them in. and you believe we should not use the WARC
bands?

Is this true??
N6YIH/7 ??

Re: 070 TDW MAX Scores

spdomingue@...

I stand corrected. So there they are the Top Scores wonder if anyone will
make them all?

I am ready to try to contact all the members but don't think I can make
everyone on all the bands I well give them all a try.

WARC Bands

spdomingue@...

Steve Ford of the ARRL,
The question came up can we use the WARC bands for a contest?
We know that 30 meters is a no but what about the others? 12, and 17
are these also NO contesting?

Thanks for the Help

N6YIH/7

contesting on the warc bands

N3DQU@...

Well guys, I was always under the impression that contesting was only a
no-no on 30m, because outside of the US there are non-amateur, primary users
on that band that we dont want to interfere with....I always figured that the
major contests didnt run on the other two warc bands cuz most everybody can
work 20,15 es 10, not sure what the allocations are for dx stations on the
warc bands...But I will send an email to the powers that be in Newington es
find out the straight scoop...Jay, N3DQU.

I thought only 30m was off-limits for contesting? Steve didn't
include it in his calculations.

I came at it a little differently. First of all, if there are 75 members, I
don't think you count working yourself, so there are only 74 that will
count.

Second, if I DON'T get a multiband radio, then the only band you'll
be able to get me on is 20m. That means that there will be 73
members you can work up to 9 times (once per band), and then
me only once. With these mods in place, the revised totals are:

9 bands 53,192
8 bands 47,290
7 bands 41,388
6 bands 35,486
5 bands 29,584
4 bands 23,682
3 bands 17,780
2 bands 11,878
1 band 5,976

I guess this proves that I have too much time on my hands, too!
