Yes, I have worked BV1YA, BV4QI, BX5AA and two dxpeditions, don't know if they
count for that: BN0W , BQ9P.

Right now I have doubts if there are 20 Taiwanese stations in PSK qrv, but we
have still time....
Good weekend to all!

Just wanted to let you guys know that PODXS will be wrking Field Day as
special event station W8W, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first
streetcar in Hubbard, Ohio. Plans are to have a PSK station up in addition
to CW and SSB. The guy behind the keyboard will be a co-worker of mine, Jim

Jay I did not see you on the air Sorry hope you were there some place I did
see K3AX as a 1D so did not call him. This is the pits as a 1D never again.

I was N6YIH/7 1D Idaho at 50 watts
Well made 83 Contacts but only 79 for ARRL as the 1d stations did not count.

So I did not have twice the fun as last year. And could not even see N1ZZZ as
he was working everyone.

for you on the next day, the 2nd of July from 18.00 local time. He'll try to
send you an e-mail too, but he isn't sure if it will work, the internet access
there is a bit tricky.
See you on the bands!

Hey Erika ---

Re: Erika - Congrats!!

DL2AYL@...

Good Mmorning Steve,

worked him on 15 meters in the evening, strange conditions, hardly any signal on
the band just the AH6 and XU7ABN - the latter didn't hear me but nobody else was
calling, hi. The AH6 called a Scot but that one didn't reply either, so I filled
the gap.... That is the advantage of my big antenna, I hear the weaker stations
sooner than others.
During the expedition of ZL9CI I couldn't hear the ZL 9 in huge pile up, but one
Saturday when I was bored by the TV program I switched on the radio, found out
that the bands were actually dead, just on 20 meters I heard a lonely station
cqing, weak but workable, turned the beam and found out it was ZL9CI, can you
believe - it was just dl2ayl who called him and got him, hi..
Good weekend to you and yours !

TDW Results

N3DQU@...

The results of our very first on-the-air event are now final. Congrats go
to W4TMM for a Top Dog score of 3468 points! Here are the top scoring
stations who will be getting certificates and an entry in the 070 Club record
book: W4TMM - N. America, Yl2FD - Europe, TA7I - Asia, PU5OPR - S. America,
DL2AYL - Bonus Station. Congratulations to all and thanks to everybody who
made the 2001 TDW a success! 73 de Jay N3DQU.

Mysteries of the 070 Club explained!

N3DQU@...

Every so often we hear from an 070 Club member who wonders why he got his
certificate in the mail but not his endorsements, or visa versa. For those
relatively new to the 070 Club and those members who have often wondered but
were afraid to ask, here is a brief description of the 070 Club organization
and what happens with your applications.

The 070 Club is a PSK awards program sponsored by the Penn-Ohio DX
Society, a very small (only 4 members!) HF-oriented club located in western
Pennsylvania and more commonly known by its initials PODXS (pronounced
PO-DIX), not to be confused with the Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin, a very fine
weekly DX newsletter published by Tedd Mirgliotta, KB8NW.

The 070 Club itself is run by two guys, both named Jay. For convenience
sake and to avoid any confusion, they will be referred to by their callsigns
KA3X and N3DQU.

KA3X is the manager of the 070 Club and holds certificate #001. He is the
Top Banana and takes care of the new members, issues 070 Club member numbers,
member certificates, Ragchewers certificates and QSO upgrade spots (e.g. 50,
100, 150, etc). KA3X's email address is < JHudak3rd@aol.com >.

N3DQU takes care of the 070 Club website and all of the information placed
therein. He also takes care of the 070 Club reflector, issues the
endorsements (e.g. Aloha, Lower 48, Hot Dog!, etc.) and often spends his off
hours thinking up new ones just to keep you guys busy! N3DQU is also the
contest manager and takes care of such things as the Three-Day Weekend (TDW),
which just took place in June and was a big success! N3DQU's email address is
< n3dqu@aol.com >.

If they are lucky, KA3X and N3DQU may see each other once a month. There
is no central database and no meetings to conduct 070 Club business. Almost
all correspondence regarding the 070 Club is passed between the two via the
internet, and each mails out the respective items that they are responsible
for to the members. For example, if a member puts in for an upgrade to the
300 QSO level and also applies for an Aloha endorsement, then the 300 spot
will be mailed out by KA3X and the Aloha endorsement will be mailed out by
N3DQU.

For best results, please send your applications and requests to the person
responsible for that particular item. If you send a QSO upgrade to N3DQU for
example, your request has to be forwarded to KA3X and may result in a delay.
By the same token, if you send an endorsement request to KA3X, then he must
forward the information to N3DQU, once again possibly resulting in a delay.

So you can see that it is quite possible to receive your upgrades,
certificates, and endorsements all at different times, even though you had
applied for them at the same time. The TARA Spring Wakeup and the TDW also
slowed throughput down quite abit this past two months, but the backlog has
been cleared up and everything is now back on track.

The 070 Club is free and open to all amateurs licensed to operate on the
HF bands. Operation of this awards program is made possible thru the support
of PODXS and contributions made by 070 Club members. Many thanks to all the
070 Members for your participation and enthusiasm! 73 de Jay N3DQU.
