Re: 17 meters
I'll echo what David said. The weak signal modes are not for ragchewing, but with how a lot of people use macro's psk31 (myself included) is becoming the same.

Have you ever tried to have a conversation over a JT mode? It's
practically impossible. There's also nothing "fast"

Re: 17 meters
There a lot of bands, modes, and power level to make it a lifetime project
Working WAS on two meters is a lot of time, 440 lifetime.

Re: 17 meters
True but can always run SSB or CW and enjoy long QSO
Or if you want to be old school AM
There a lot of places and modes to work on bands
Think if there were not two modes trying to use same

Seems to me that it's just another version of collecting Facebook Friends game. Log a bunch of people you don't know without knowing anything about them.
Guess different strokes for different

Re: 17 meters
it’s the setup of those modes
to pass data at fast speed,
not to have an hour conversation.
that one thing I like about them.
don’t need to hear about someone prerecorded Macro of their

Re: 17 meters
With JT65, JT9 and FT8 the trend is to make a contact and log it. No one wants to have interaction or conversation. Just sayin'
