I called CQ from about 10 before the hour to 25 after. No contact, in fact I did not see even 1 trace. All I heard or saw was CW contenders i'll try again tomorrow evening.

160 Meters Tonight?

Mike Besemer <mwbesemer@...>

All this talk about 160 meters has me wanting to play.  Winter will be over before we know it and 160 will be nothing but noise again.

I’m going to start CQing about 0200 at 1.807 + about 1700.  Since the last time I was on 160, a nasty raucous noise has appeared centered at about 1000 Hz and about 500 Hz wide, so I have to stay pretty far North in the bandpass.

Mike

I plan on using 1.807 as the base frequency.  1.838 is supposed to be the European PSK freq, but I have little hope of making any EU contacts on this limited antenna.   Hope to work you!  You would be a "ATNO" for me on 160.

First, thanks to all who responded to my posting.  I decided I will try to get the antenna up and work 160m this coming Friday and Saturday evening.  Probably will get on about 0200 UTC (9PM EST) both evenings.  Be advised my temporary antenna is an end fed inverted L only 53' long with the horizontal portion only up about 20'.  I doesn't hear the best, but I will be listening and CQing.  Sure would like to work you all - including any I have already worked on 160m!  Thanks again and hope to see you on the waterfall Friday or Saturday evening.
