KC9UR APE/POTA This Weekend

Hi all! Just a reminder that Stan (W9SMR) and I will be going APE/POTA from Trine State Recreation Area (POTA K-4182) this weekend starting Friday evening and continuing through noon Sunday. This will be our 10th consecutive APE and we are eagerly looking forward to working lots of you. We will have 2 transmitters with antennas capable of working all bands from 80m - 6m. As in past years we're offering a nice certificate to all who work us on 3 or more bands and a nice QSL card to those desiring one. In addition to working APE hunters, we look forward to handing out contacts to Endorsement Daze #7 participants working towards the 88 Tri-Band and/or the WARC-CRAWL Endorsements. In addition, everyone who contacts us will receive Parks On The Air hunter credit for K-4182 on the pota.app website. See you on the waterfall!

Idea…use a webSDR to feed audio thru the air to FLDigi or your favorite PSK decoder if your antenna Tx better than it Rx.

John - KC3FL (who is also the endorsement checker guy for 070) is who I consider the BIG GUN PSKer of the SE. His antenna farm makes this HOA restricted guy drool. Good that you worked him. If anyone in this area can hear you, he would be the one!

FWIW I worked KC3FL John Monday at 1927 Monday so we’ve got a chance. He gave me a 459. I’m planning on somewhere in the 2000-2400 UTC range today from K-3266 again.

Same from central Florida Elizabeth. I've been watching the waterfall every day you are on and haven't seen a trace. Sure hope to work you soon. In the meantime, enjoy the Port Angeles area, Olympic National Park, (nice parking lot at the visitor's center on Hurricane Ridge - Paula K7PAX operated /P from there a few years back!) and be sure to drive out to see the lighthouse on Tatoosh Is. from Cape Flattery - northwestern most point in the continental USA. And often Puffins too!

As you might have seen from other emails, those of us in the northeast often can't hear you during the daytime on 20m. And if 10 or 15 isn't open, then we're stuck.
Later in the day may give us a better shot.

APE this weekend

I'm working on an expedition for this coming weekend to the Cherokee national forest in southeast TN, which for POTA is K-4525. I'll be bringing my end-fed long wire antenna and I will also have my mobile hustler for backup.
I'll probably be on at around noon (EDT) on the 20th, and I'll start out on 20m as that is what seems to be working the best lately. -Jonathan KI4WVW
