WARC FREQ'S NEEDED

John van Eijndt KC0DEB

Hi FM,

I have read all of ur messages abt the Tri-WARC , and all the activity lately.   Unfortunatly, this was not applying to me. These bands are not covered by my wire antenna, and my internal tuner would not handle such a mismatch.......I thought.    Well, I just gave it a try after reading yet another string of e-mails, and have to say that I under estimated this old rig of mine....
It sure did drop the SWR to a acceptable level of 1:1.5 or less on all 3 bands.  Now my question is: where are you guys & gals meeting on 30-17 & 12 Mtr?  ( I know Jay is hanging out on 24.925 I believe, haven't seen you yet, though  hihi )  I Guess I am set and ready to go after the TRI-WARC, so I'm looking forward seeing you all on my screen soon!       73 de John KC0DEB    Kansas City, KS

24.920

Croft Taylor <croft@...>

Hi Folks,

Although I am not on the 24Mhz Band - (no antenna up yet), I do notice that I
also have a small interfering carrier on 24.920 Mhz. It is NOT from the
Computer nor the Monitor. It may, however, be an internal oscillation from
the FT 1000 D.

hmmmm, mebbe my monitor is getting out better than my rig...lemme see
now...I bet I can key the horizontal oscillator with a relay alrite es throw
a couple loops of wire around the crt to couple to the feedline..yeah, I shud
be able to get a pretty nasty signal out with that getup, I think...hey
Croft, lemme know if you hear any wide-band cw on 24.920!....Jay.

12m window

For everyone working on the Tri-WARC endorsement, suggest we set up a
window for 12m to listen for signals, say the top of the hour. FYI I am still
unable to copy anything at 24.920 due to computer monitor qrm, so pse look
for my trace at .925. Jay N3DQU.

ADIBASE update

N3DQU@...

Subj: ADIBASE update
Date: 8/12/2001 12:23:19 PM Eastern Daylight Time
From: mortjame@westnet.com
To: NL@coolwebstuff.com, Readers@coolwebstuff.com

A small number (3) of hams who downloaded ADIBASE have reported getting an
error message when trying to install the program. Dave tracked it down.
You can solve the problem very easily or download an updated version later
this evening.

The problem--ADI files need an end-of-record mark at the end of each listing
in the database. For some reason or other DigiPan is not always doing this.
Put your ADI file in WordPad or any other simple word processor. Check each
listing to see that there is <EOR> at the end of each QSO entry. If there is
one missing just type it in.

The newer version will be uploaded by 0200Z 13 August.

Subj: An important short note
Date: 8/11/2001 1:22:45 PM Eastern Daylight Time
From: mortjame@westnet.com
To: Newsletter@coolwebstuff.com, Readers@coolwebstuff.com

This is a very short, short edition of the GAZETTE newsletter. But, it's
important if you are a DigiPan user, or use a log file that is in the ADIF
format
(Amateur Data Interchange Format).

The log in DigiPan can be searched by call sign but cannot be sorted or
searched in any other field. That's no longer true! Dave Guest has written a
small
piece of freeware for everybody, everywhere that can use it. ADIBASE sorts on
any field in the ADI log file and even has a second SubSet search. It's a
terrific addition to your software arsenal.

ADIBASE may be distributed freely and used by anyone for any non-commercial
purpose. Read about it and download ADIBASE from
http://www.n2hos.com/digital/adibase.html. It's a winner!

I know this is sleazy but I thought I would give the 070 bunch first

medical bills to pay before they re-possess my Oxygen machine.
It is not showing up on E-bay yet.
