Chuck,

I wonder if it's broke at times too. I just picked up a W6, still quiet.

Most days signals are weak and have lots of QSB. Propagation & power levels may have something to do with that. Most of stronger signals are from FL (KC3FL must be running a kilowatt, hi ! hi ! But I know he isn't , he just has a good signal and a good path to Illinois.

What we need is more sunspots and to get the SFI out of 70.

Would be nice if there was one hunk of software that would do everything and please everyone. Unfortunately, I doubt that will ever happen. Someone once said that "you can please some of the people all the time, but you can't please all the people all the time ...". Think this is most true with computers and software. That is why there have been so many reincarnations of Windows from Microsoft.

Ham Radio Deluxe is up to version 6.7.0.277. That is a far cry from version 6.0 which admittedly had its share of bugs. The initial change from the free version of HRD to the paid version was not without some hiccups, but most of them have been resolved.

Although I do not use all of the capabilities of HRD, I have found that it works quite well with Windows 10. It has been quite a while since I encountered a bug.

Personally, I never liked Fldigi due to the separate modules- fldigi, flog, frig, etc. I prefer the integration of HRD. But to each his own. It is nice to have choices.

K6WRJ,

My suggestion would be to switch to Fldigi.  I use HRD for about 15 years unitl the 6.0 version came out.  I found it to have many bugs and be very bloated.  I had tried Fldigi before, but had not like it, but I made the change when I started running mobile digital and my computer at the time only had 32G memory.  There are some features of HRD, especially DM780 that I really like, but I have gotten use to not having them.  Just my thoughts.

Thank you. I figured out the issue and correct solution. I was using usb mode to see the full spectrum in digital modes.  Switching to digital mode fixed the issue but I could only see a small portion of the band. I searched and found a YouTube video on how to fix through settings and ultimately switching from nar to wide. Seems simple now.

Sounds like you have line in. This happens if you happen to open 780 without your COdEC or sound card running. Btw, the same thing can happen on JTDX.

Never got FH # from you and checked membership roster which no one ever updated. Saw a lot of calls there who are also PODXS members as well as many SKs.

Anyhow, I listed you as "no FH#". In PSK contests I can go back and review what was sent, but that doesn't happen in MixW with Feld Hell. Just can't type as fast as I used to and my handwriting is worse than ever ... 9, 4 and other number/letters are difficult to read.

Anyone using the FT-891 please contact me off list. I saw an advertisement for it and was just wondering how good it really is. I currently have a Knwd TS-480 but it’s always nice to have a backup and if the FT-891 is as good as I hear it is my TS-480 could very well be the backup!! hihi

31 Flavors Contest 2020 Results

31 Flavors Contest 2020 results are in. A very BIG THANK YOU to David, K9DWR, for again creating the upload link and parsing the results.

In the Medium Power Category, Lee, N5SLY, again showed why he is Top Dawg in PSK contesting. With his 92 QSOs in 63 States/Modes and 16 DXCC/Modes, he handily won his Category by beating runner-up John, KC3FL, by 2148 points. The 3rd place winner was Barry, VA7GEM representing the often punished PNW. It was so great to see Barry pulling down the QSOs.

1st Place in Low Power was Jim, N7ESU. He actually had the 3rd highest score in all categories. Finishing in 2nd Place was John, KG5OIB. Finishing in 3rd Place was non-member Greg, KG7D of Carson City, NV. Welcome to the 070 competition Greg and we hope to see you as a member soon.

1ST Place in QRP 5W Category was Non-member Todd, N6XDX, of Vista, CA. We hope to see Todd as a new member soon, also. Finishing in 2nd Place was Walt, KC1DVT, the only other QRP log submitted. Congrats on your QRP performance under very trying conditions.

Winners in each Category are summarized in the table below.

This was an 18 hour long window, 6 hour Sprint contest on the 20M band, So, we had to carefully choose the operating times to maximize our results. We had 45 Logs submitted, which is the highest since 2016. There were only 22 submitted last year. Looks like a good turnout!

Joining us as member #2739 during the contest, was Bob, N8GU. He actually finished in 4th Place in the Medium Power Category. Welcome aboard!!

In addition to the two non-member category winners mentioned above, we had 6 additional non-members submit logs. They were Richard, WA8UMT; Gary, WB9AYD; Kenneth, KM6BKU; Larry, DU1/N6HPX (Philippines); Stevie, W4INK; and Tim, KM6KIZ. Tim has since joined us as member #2745. Thank you all for competing and submitting your logs. We hope you will join us soon.

Full results will be uploaded to the 070 Club and 070 Club Contest Reflectors. See Groups.io for info on viewing uploaded files: http://www.podxs070.com/o7o-email-reflector

Our next contest will be the Three Day Weekend starting 0000 UTC on Friday, May 29 through 2359 on Sunday, May 31.  This Contest includes all bands from 160M to 6M (no WARC Bands).
