Maybe I need to apply.

I ran into a station from 2 Rivers Alaska during the PODXS QRP DX contest
last weekend.

I was surprized he answered my call, 5 watts isn't all that much power, and
he had a pile up at the time.

OOPS Sorry about that group I stand corrected I saw PYO ZYO as Trinidade and
Marin Vaz Islands and after reviewing my Prefixes of DXCC Countries I did
not look far enough down the chart so yes Trinidad and Tobago's Prefixes are
9Y - 9Z my apologies to all.

All take care and Have a Very Happy New Year God Bless

UMMMM Very Intersting seems like Grid Square FK90 is in Trinidad as shown
above and the ak would put him aboard a ship above or under the water just
off the coast of Trinidad but the only problem is the prefixes for Trinidad
are PYO and ZYO so some one some where is pulling some ones leg big time and
I would not even brother to go back to him as all that does is feed his EGO
so if enough ignore him he will go away, Just my 2 cents worth and put .98
cents with it you might get a cup of coffee some where

Re: 160m Freq help for PSK

Craig Wallen <kf4hou@...>

I use a 160m full wave loop and a 160m 1/4 wave inverted l at my location, working CW on 160m is more exciting than working digi for now on that band. A lot more chances of working DX on that band on CW vs. digital just because how many people are QRV ,

I like the idea of the half square seems to be a pretty cool antenna or a extended zepp on 160m. The sure size of it is over coming some of the other problems , like RF ground conditions etc. Take off angles I modeled on the half square were a slight bit lower than my 1/4 wave L would be. a 1/2 wave inverted l would be even better than the 1/4 would be. The higher the vertical section the better off you are as well. my inverted l has a 65 foot vertical section on it. My ground radials start about 5 inches above the ground and slope down into the ground , so I can mow around it. The inverted L is such a noisy antenna as well , but I like the ability of switching from horz. to vertical in the QSB moments, but it gets annoying doing that hi hi.

Thanks on the info's about region 1 band limits , I kind of suspected that but never did search down the information on it.

Thanks to you and the group. Been running PSK for a while, but just
finally got around to joining.

I use an FT-857 with rigblaster in the shack and portable I use an

While Im sure it is amusing and hate to be a stick in the mud, we also have to insure that we do not contact obvious Illegal stations.

Interesting what a quick Google search shows: he's been CQing from a
