Just for giggles, I tried to tune 12 meters, but somehow the antenna is not cooperating.
So I'm moving to 30 meters for a little bit.

I can tell there's some traces there, but can't pick them out.

I managed to squeeze one out on 30m, but that was by luck and prayer. My rig
is not built well for 30 at all (and other WARC are even worse). I'll
take what I can get. ;-)

I'll probably hang out on 20m, but I'll try and see if the SWR isn't too
bad on the other bands. Maybe I'll get a little more luck.

K8TOM

I've been calling on 30M for a while, but no takers so far.

I saw KE0JBT earlier, but no reply received to my return.

I will probably move to 17M and 20M in a half hour.  The sun rises very early this time of year in these parts. Visible light period here today is 17H 23M.  My corn likes that.

And very few lightning storms.  They are rare enough that we tell our kids about them, HI HI.

Here's hoping for a good radio day for all.

Re: Storms

Jim K5SP

I recall, when I was living in San Diego area, it rarely had lightning also.  (I was WB6EWH back then).

Here in north Texas, we experience these severe storms quite frequently during the Spring/early summer months.  The warm moist air coming up from the gulf meets the cooler air coming from the north and violent storms are created, many times spawning tornado activity.   Several years ago, one came through causing all windows on west side of house to be broken out, over 10K damage to 2 vehicles, new roof, antenna's replaced. Overall over 20K damage.

When these form up, it's time to unplug all gear, disconnect antennas, and save the rigs.

QSYing to 30m

Rick - N7WE

QSY to 30m at 1230 UTC.  Will call standard CQ - not 070 Daze - as I don't want anyone to think I'm contesting on 30m.  Hope to work you and maybe add to your Tri-band Endorsement!
