Re: Raising the "F" layer?
Don,
You might want to hang on to the rotators. It is really important to get the azimuth and elevation correct when running that much power on the vertical.

If we was really smart, we'd all be real nice to N3DQU and ask him to get out
his "propagation equipment?" to help us out.

Raising the "F" layer?
Perhaps if we could clone enough of those 5 kw indestructable amps,
we could heat the atmosphere before the contest to get the MUF at
a high level. I am thinking if the 5k were aimed into a long

I've had really good luck using a florescent tube, they are more broad
banded, and when you transmit, they help light your shack.

Thanks for the suggestion. Does it matter what wattage the bulb is?
If I use a 40 watt bulb, I should get 7 dB gain, right? (My two radios
put out a total of 8 watts. 40 / 8 = 5, which is 7

TARA Rumble on 6 meters (Was: Rumble Attaboy)
Don't worry, I shall apply for this one as well... BTW
the Rumble is also on 50 MHz and I would like to have a
go with my new 5-element Yagi in PSK-31 mode. Anybody
in Europe interested for a try?

Re: PSK DX
Steve,
You've got to use a splitter.
You put the splitter on the antenna connector of your PSK-20. Connect the
Anetnna connector from your FT-817 to one side of the splitter and the other
side

When you hook up amps in series, do they add like resistors (1 + 1 +
1 = 3) or capacitors (1 + 1 + 1 "=" 0.577)? I forget the rule.
