If I get too many QSOs where the guy wants to share his life story, then I get to be a bit curmudgeonly. Hi , hi !

I think that's the point. Some people may want to chat a little and say hi to an old friend, or offer a welcome

Hey Jerry-
It was great to work you in the St. Pats - even though we have worked like a gazillion time before! Keep on keepin' on! Old friends, new friends - whatever their style, I enjoy 070

070 contest can be whatever you want them to be. It’s your choice.
Back when I was in 10-10 Int’l Net contests, we would often stop to chat in the middle of the contest much to the chagrin

I agree with Mike. Being able to mix contest and rag chew modes during 070 "activities" requires skill and is attractive to me.

Re: St. Pat's Soapbox--my view
So how is a contest QSO on PSK-31 which minimizes information transferred any different from an FT8 interchange, which so many 070 members seem to detest?
Yes, we can be very efficient in exchanging

Re: VY0ERC Eureka Weather Station
I saw a US station working them yesterday a little later than 18: but I couldn't see their trace. I have them in my notifier so if they show up on my water fall I'll give them a shot.

Yes, everyone can still upload to the checker, but I cannot submit those endorsements for stickers (RATS !) . Hopefully one of these days it will work again !

Congrats on finishing up NE !
Still have 3 more to go for NE and so many others with only one or two left. They just don’t seem to be there. It gives me something to look

Just worked KE0SVL from EN02. That completed NE grids for me and took me to 372 grids completed! The Progress Checker may not credit me right now, but I've done it. And when everything gets sorted

Heads up everyone!
Time to get up and get on! Things are very active on 20m from here in central Florida at about 1500 UTC. Europe, East Coast of US, Mid-America, out to New Mexico not to mention Mexico and Venezuela.

Re: Endorsement checker question
Thanks to all for working on the software problems. I still enjoy PSK contacts: quick ones where I just get a callsign and sig report and maybe a QTH and LOC and those I am talking to for 15-20

If you want to minimize your exchange during a contest, consider doing what the FT-8 folks do. I know many 070 members detest the FT-8 mode, and they have a right to do so. However, because the number
