Re: 17m PSK31
I too feel the frustration with FT-8 "taking over" what had been "our" segment of 17m. But I doubt posting our concerns here will do much to change that. May I suggest those of us who feel this is

NU4C - Paul - Completes 366!
He did it! On 10/8 NU4C - Paul - completed his 366. He is only the 21st person of 2570+ members to do so. Congratulations Paul. Well done!
Paul had previously completed the 24/7 endorsement.

Methinks the well-respected developer of FT8 wither a a brain fart , didn't care or is getting senile. He owes an apology to PSK31 operators everywhere !
If we didn't need band plans and everyone

Re: 17m PSK31
He picked the anchor frequencies – or at least coded them into the software.
Moving down to the PSK bands won’t go well for them.

Re: 17m PSK31
If I’d have received an email like that, I’d have politely (maybe) reminded the individual that the frequency had previously been occupied by another mode and that they didn’t get to decide what

I didn’t want to open up that can or worms but since it has been cracked.....so I follow the WSJTX yahoo group. There was a thread today about needing to expand the FT8 band because it’s so

Contest Certificates and other things
I've begun to work on the contest certificates for 2017 today. So there's that, and I think it's good news.
Now for the shocking thing (at least to me)..... I just found a stack of *2015*

Re: 17m PSK31
Well fellows, this seems to be a problem on many bands now. The FT8 group seems to have chosen frequencies without regard for other users and since it seems to be the hot thing now FT8 users are

Re: 17m PSK31
I tried FT8, didn't like it. The frequency programmed into software for 17 meters is 18.100, go figure??

Or just run RTTY CQ on 18.100 . That frequency is usually inhabited by RTTY when band is open. So whose fault was it those FT8 stations are all on 18.000 ... thought I read somewhere that it was

Love it. Since I have a Cobweb Antenna let’s be careful with the spray. I don’t want to kill mine.

Re: 17m PSK31
My suggestion is to CQ right +1500 up from the 17m frequency as they "invaded" a known frequency. We'll just have to learn to coexist.

17m PSK31
Wondering what has happened to 17m PSK31 now that it's been infested with FT-8 signals ??? Have PSK31 found a new spot on 17m or is there something we can spray on our antennas to rid us of FT8

Managed to grab 4, K3SXA, W3WMU, K4ARE, and N2MLP. All on a 1/2 wave 160 dipole about 25' off the ground.
