070 Valentine Sprint – Chat Group

stan W9SMR

The Ø7Ø Club Valentine Sprint starts in a few hours –

0000Z-2359Z  -  14 February 2021

The contest is unique in that you earn twice as many points if you work a YL as working an OM.

It is critical then, that we enhance our chances by using the Contest Chat group in addition to spotting signals on PSKReporter or other sites.

Especially for help in grabbing a few YL QSOs, it is helpful to use the Triple Play Low Band Sprint CHAT GROUP set up by Bob, KK6KMU.

Just go to the Main Groups.io site and subscribe to that Chat Group for an active helping hand,

I will be sure to credit the Don Juan, lothario who finds the most YL’s with the Don Juan Atta-Boy.

For Rules and detailsClick Here: Rules - Valentine Sprint

Here is the latest list of YL MEMBERS  to look for:

If you do not yet have the TOP BAND (work 20 on 160M) or the 88 Tri-Band (3 YL on 3 Bands) Endorsements, this Contest gives you an excellent chance to grab both.

And don’t forget the Don Juan Atta-Boy.

Good luck and enjoy the chase!!

Stan

Re: JoAnn - ACLog Alerts?

Well David I have the watch list on a usb drive. File about 57k. I placed the file in the ACLOG program. But nothing shows up in either of the 2 computers I use.
Any thoughts?

Re: LINUX Users

Sebastien

Hi Chris,
Yes I would be interested in your How-to.
I'm running Bulleyes on a Pi4 (FLDigi, WSJTX, GridTracker) with a remote iPad thru VNC.
I also have an alternate setup using a Netbook running Linux Mint.
Both setups for portable / experimentation.

Tnx,

070 Valentine Sprint – Tomorrow...

stan W9SMR

The Ø7Ø Club Valentine Sprint starts tomorrow –

0000Z-2359Z  -  14 February 2021

Sprint Rules – Work a 6 hour block of your choice. For Scoring, your 6 hour block will start with the hour you select on the Scoring page and continue for the next 6 hours

Work each station once per band. (Same station, same band is a dupe!)

Open to all licensed radio amateurs.

Bands:  40M, 80M, 160M, PSK-31 Only

For Rules and detailsClick Here: Rules - Valentine Sprint

2 Entry Categories:

Male:     OM

Female: YL

4 Power Categories:

QRP < 5 W
Low < 25 W
Medium < 50 W
High < 100 W (See Rules)

Exchange:
Callsign,  OM or YL and  State/Province/Country (SPC)

Example: “K7PAX  YL  WA”

While not needed for contest scoring, some members have elected to include their member number. It may make it easier for those who are chasing LONP and it is good publicity.

Example: “K7PAX  YL  WA  070-1739”

Call: “CQ 070 Valentine Sprint”

All entry logs
must be received within 1 week after the event ends.

Please submit logs via the Valentines Sprint Uploader which will be activated when contest completes. See Valentine Sprint Rules on Website for link above.

With 3 bands to choose from, you can optimize your luck with propagation. It is helpful to post your intentions to QSY on the Reflector. Also, be sure to use PSKReporter and to Spot calls seen.

Here is the latest list of YL MEMBERS  to look for:

If you do not yet have the TOP BAND (work 20 on 160M) or the 88 Tri-Band (3 YL on 3 Bands) Endorsements, this Contest gives you an excellent chance to grab both.

Good luck and enjoy the chase!!

Re: Contest

Steve WB3LGC

I could care less about super bowl.  The RTTY WPX finishes at 2359z and PSK starts...  GREAT.  The PSK contest is "your best 6 hours", so you don't need to start at 00z, just don't mess with the 14th as the wife/girlfriend won't be happy...

NOT a sports fan, either.  (Radio Sport, is different)
