Re: Eqsl a legitimate Grid Square QSL.
It's more clear than a "generic " Eqsl. If I lost logs, I'd have to start over maybe, but no proof of actual QSO. jerry

What does the QSL actually say for grid?
My first reaction was that it seems like a whole lot of effort to create a new login (i.e., callsign) with the grid embedded therein. And it also means that if you send an eQSL to W9VOY/m (as he signed), you won't get a match.
But maybe this is his way of making sure he uploads the right QSOs to each account.
Unusual? Yes. Kind of flakey (because of the grid embedded in the callsign)? Absolutely. But is the intent clear? Definitely.

3D2CR Conway Reef operation FT4/FT8
IOTA Management regrets that it will not be able to accept for IOTA credit contacts made with the 3D2CR operation from Conway Reef between 18 and 25 September 2021. Dominik has not been able to show that his FT4/FT8 activity complied with IOTA rule B.3.10 on which clarification was given in a Management News Item on 10 September. At Dominik’s request credit will also not be given for a small number of contacts made on SSB. Management wishes to draw IOTA DXpeditioners’ attention to its policy of only accepting for IOTA credit contacts that result from contemporaneous direct initiation by the operators on both sides of the contact. Automated contacts, i.e. contacts not initiated and completed personally by both operators at the time of QSO are not acceptable in a programme founded on an ethos of recognising personal operating performance and skill.

Dianne has the DVR running so we can do replays! We'll slowmo the long shots of the kiss and cry and scan for you. Too bad we don't have you two in our facial recognition program - hi hi! We'll be sure to wave at the TV if we see you. Stay warm in there and enjoy the spectacular skating! Will look for you on the waterfall from DM15.

Great Pumpkin 160 M Sprint Results
stan W9SMR
Last year we hoped that 160M conditions would improve and participation would increase, and our hopes were rewarded with 24 logs submitted. This year, those hopes were dashed in the noise! This year there were only 12 logs submitted with 1 High Power, 6 Medium Power, 3 Low Power and 2 QRP. 12 States were worked with 32 total QSO’s. One non-member submitted his log. 1st Place in the High Power 100W category was John, KC3FL of Inverness, FL with 1 QSO, 1 State and 2 points. John was Top Dawg and 1st in the Jay Hudak 80M Sprint this year. He is currently in 2nd Place in the RC3 Championship. He may move to 1st Place because current 1st Place Lee, N5SLY, did not enter the 160M contest. Top Dawg and 1st in Medium Power 50W was Stan, W9SMR/9 of Fremont, IN, with 7 QSOs, 5 states and 42 points. This is the second rare win for Stan. He credits his Jury-rigged Inv-L and the low noise of his rural QTH for his success. His secret was simply Butt-in-Chair for 6 solid hours. Who would ever think that 7 QSOs would win a contest? 2nd Place in Medium Power 50W was Bob, KF3AA, of Huntington, MD with 4 QSOs, 4 states and 20 points. He grabbed 1st Place in Medium Power in the Jay Hudak 80M Sprint. He is currently in 3rd place in the RC3. 3rd Place was Roger, N8TCP of Parma Heights, OH with 3 QSOs, 2 states and 9 points. He grabbed 2nd Place in Medium Power in the Jay Hudak 80M Sprint. 1st Place was a tie in Low Power 25 W category with Darin, KO4EJD of Yuma, AZ and Robert, N3PPH of Prince Frederick, MD each with 4 QSOs, 3 states and 16 points. 2nd Place was non-member, Homer, N5JDT of Alamogordo, NM with 1 QSO and 2 points. Homer joined us last year on 160M. Time to join, Homer! Note that the Top Dawg Certificate and Rollo Dog Tag will be reserved exclusively for members.

Alan - KA5VZG
I just got back from IL.
I sure hated to miss that last big one for you Bob, but was really glad to see that Rick N7WE covered for me AGAIN. Since I'm one of those, been there/done that's, I know what a relief it is to get that last one checked off. Like you all have mentioned, it takes a bit of help to complete any of these long winded awards. I think Bob KK6KMU set up this chat to begin with, and it is a real convenience. Getting a few helpers really makes it work. So anyone else thinking about 24/7, advertise and get some buddies. Those dark early ones will show you why misery likes company. Of course Stan W9SMR is always in there, reminding, encouraging, supporting. Then when you finally finish, he is the first one in line to provide you with a new challenge :-) Congratulations, CA-Bob, well deserved. 73, Alan, KA5VZG

Thank you all for the congrats. And Rick you are correct this is a great group of helpful and resourceful people. I started this journey last year about the same time of year with Dave KB3RAN, Bob K4VBM, Alan KA5VZG, Stan W9SMR, and Don KC4OBB to name a few. I just ran out of steam and couldn't finish. Rick N7WE and Alan KA5VZG helped me finish the challenge this time. And Stan you a correct Ill have to wait for the next leap year for the 366 endorsement. By the way the chat came in handy again.
Have a great weekend, Bob KK6KMU.

Re: Congrats to Bob, KK6KMU
Bob-
Allow me to add my congratulations on your outstanding achievement. 24/7 is a difficult and challenging endorsement. 168 time slots to fill! Late, late nights...early (and very dark) mornings...and you did it all! I was also impressed with the way you used this group to make your plans/needs known and your creating a chat group to coordinate with those who joined in to help you along. It was a fine example of using the resources that are available to tap the spirit of cooperation and help within 070. I hope others will use your example and publicize their ongoing efforts here on the group! We all get by with a little help from our friends! Again, congrats! Superior work! -- Rick - N7WE 070 - #1602

CONGRATS – Bob, KK6KMU – On 24/7 Endorsement
stan W9SMR
CONGRATULATIONS, Bob on your successful, dedicated pursuit of this very difficult Endorsement.
I believe you will be only the 31st of 2,872 members to achieve this one. You have already thanked the great co-members who gave up their sleep to help you put this one away. Now, go take a nap! You have also made great progress on your 365/366 Award. Just 11 dates needed for that one. Unfortunately, to complete the 366 Award, you will need to wait until the next Leap Day, February 29, 2024. Congrats again!! 73,

Well the last two days have been pretty good for most grid hunters. Sorry I missed a couple of people. Worked a bunch of people on Tuesday before the swr went to infinity and beyond. Never could find what caused it. Today started out having a problem with the computer, could not seem to decode anything and found that MacAfee virus protection was using almost 100% of the cpu. Stopped the program and everything went back to normal. Worked most the people I knew needed the grids, but I know I missed a couple. Kathy and I have seen a lot of rural OK, TX, NM and AZ so far on this trip. Now on to the bright lights of Las Vegas. Should be going thru DM33, DM32, DM22, DM23, DM24, DM25, and DM26. Will be hitting DM27 on Friday. Kathy and I have been having fun trying to activate the grids and are planning several trips for next year if work permits. 73 Dick - KC3EF
