I’m left with Sunday thru Friday at 1100 UTC and Monday at 1200 and 1300 UTC. 40 meters would be the best fit for me but I could also try 20 meters. I would be willing to also work other hours too. I would like to start on October 17, early Sunday and work each day for the rest of the week. We can work out a schedule depending on who is interested.
Last years participants, Stan W9SMR, Alan KA5VZG, John KC3FL, Lee N5SLY, Bob K4VBM, Randy W4RTT, Darin KO4EJD, Rich W7RTL, Milt N6MG, James AC0CW, and Dave KB3RAN. Alan and Bob were there everyday. I hope I didn't forget anyone. Thanks for your help. Hope to see you on the waterfall this 24/7 sprint.

Bob-
Count me in! 11 UTC is 7 EDT so no pain on this end. I'll try to be on each day beginning this Sunday 10/10 first on 40 and if no joy then 20. But 20 is usually only EU that time of day from here. I can be there on Monday for the 12/13 slots too. -- Rick - N7WE 070 - #1602

Re: Special Event station advise
Hi Bill...
An excellent question.
I'll weigh in and say between:
(Your local time)...
3:00pm and 6:00pm-7:00pm for 20 meters
6:00pm and 8:00pm-9:00 pm for 40 meters.
I think those 2 will be your money bands.
You can check the higher bands during the day, and even 80m later at night.
Of great value to you is your posting your immediate operating schedule to this email
reflector.
I look forward to working you!

Milt.

I am looking for some Special Event station advise. The W7Y Come and Get Wyoming event starts on the 7th and goes through the 18th. While PSK is my first priority, I also want to get as many QSOs as possible for the event so I will be working multiple modes during the event. My question is, when is the optimal hours to work PSK? The event covers 2 weekends so my thinking is 2 hours each Saturday & Sunday which gives me 8 hours just for PSK. With the brain trust of this group, which hours will give me the maximum results? With that said, I doubt there will be many other guys running PSK so I can go rouge off the schedule and throw out some random CQ's from time to time and since my work load looks light during the event if someone wants the W7Y QSO or just needs WY I am more than happy to schedule something at other times. Come on everyone, help me make this a great PSK event. Any and all ideas are welcome. 73 Bill N7RI 070-1191

John,

I appreciate the tips and will try to follow them. I did finally get WSJT-X working and decoded a whole bunch of calls from US call signs to S9OK. After a quick check on QRZ.com, I learned that 10/3 was the first day that the S9OK Czech DX Pedition (to the island of São Tomé off the West Coast of Africa) would be setting up operations. Their schedule indicates that they will be operating FT8 on 7.071 until 10/15. All I can figure is that I must have failed to see that my VFO had drifted to 7.071. I am running a uBITX v6 without CAT control so that would have been an easy mistake for me to make. Thanks for taking time to respond. Sincerely, Please remember: Hands, Face, Space, Ventilate!

John Kirby
Hi Stephen es welcome
Couple tips re FT8 es FT4 Your PC clock must be set to WWV +/- two seconds Your SSB ALC must not go into hard clamping action, else max splatter es distortion ... IF so ... reduce audio drive ... use WSJT-X SLIDER or PC (audio output) drop window... splatter ... overdrive distortion also applies to PSK 72 73 74 QRPp^MAX = 1W John N3AAZ 070 1337 ... LONP 0349

Jim,
Thanks, I tried WSJT-X again and this time was able to decode the FT8. Looks like S9OK is having a big time on 7.070 I am having a rough time making contact with anyone tonight. Am I the only one experiencing this problem? -- Stephen, KO4CVU

This is the waterfall. The transmissions come on for approx. 10 seconds then don’t resume again for 20 seconds. There are anywhere from 3 to 9 simultaneous transmissions at individual offsets. I’m just a curious newbie. Locator is EM83vn. Thanks! Stephen, KO4CVU

Just curious to find out what mode is being used to broadcast on several offsets tonight. Can’t seem to find it with Fldigi.

Ø7Ø Club 160M GREAT PUMPKIN SPRINT - Head's up

The Ø7Ø Club 160M GREAT PUMPKIN SPRINT is just 1 week away Saturday October 9 - 2000 UTC to Sunday October 10 - 1959 UTC Sprint Rules - your choice of any 6 hour block. For scoring, your six hour block will begin with the hour that you select on the scorer page and continue for the next 6 hours.
QRP < 5 W
This event will test your ingenuity and stealthy antenna talents in order to put up an antenna that will send your signals into the ether. It is not impossible. After all, a 160M dipole is only 272 feet long. Check your HOA rules for loop-holes. And it will be worth pursuing, in order to grab that Top Band Endorsement Sticker with 20 QSOS on 160M. Only 44 of our 2,869 members have earned this one.
