Ok Jim thanks for the update. I also have another question for you, I upload to awards page and it took Me about 10 times trying to submit my Grid awards to finally getting them submitted but they still haven’t been updated ? Just wondering if page has had a problem.

We have decided to proceed and all who have the station in their log will get credit . Give a couple days more to finalize and will be published. Thanks to all for your patience.

Got you LoTW confirmation. You need to revise it because it says you're on IOTA NA-006, but am not aware of any islands in Utah. Thanks , Jerry n9avy

Re: IC-7300 with Fldigi - setup for PSK-31
Stephen Melachrinos <melachri@...>
I can't speak to other radios, but Mike's approach is true for my FT-817 and FT-857. If I adjust so there's no ALC indication on the 817's display, then I have no output.

While this method may be appropriate for Icom rigs, Yaesu seems to use a different philosophy for their ALC display. There is a zone to the the left which displays permissible operation and a zone to the right which should be avoided. So the procedure is to adjust the audio drive so the ALC indication stays in high side of the left zone . (See attachment from the FTDX-10 Operating Manual.) I’ve used this method for years on my FT-991 and am now using it on the FTDX-10, and I consistently get good signal reports.

Not true of my FT-1000MP. Adjust mic gain until no indication on ALC meter. Jerry n9avy #454

Re: Trying to wrap up PODX 070 366 endorsement
Okay, guys. I'm down to 3 days needed. And the 25th and 26th are 2 of them. I'll be on the air tonight to get one of them (364) and tomorrow night for the 365. August 23 is my 366 and I'll be operating from West Quoddy Head Lighthouse for International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend if my plans work. That's going to be an APE, an ILLW and a 366 operation and nearly my birthday. Hope it all works.
Look for my CQ 366 call tonight and tomorrow. I will be on the air Field Day weekend and will come out of FD mode to make a 366 contact for those needing one.
See you on the waterfall.

Re: PODXS made ARRL Contest letter !
TG Frerichs
Jerry,
FT8 is a weak signal mode, not necessarily a low power mode. It's easy to confuse, but one is on the receiving end and the other is on the transmitting end. Of course, we should only use as much power as necessary to maintain a contact. But that's true of all modes. Tom Frerichs AE0GQ

Re: IC-7300 with Fldigi - setup for PSK-31
Generally if you show Zero ALC your signal will be clean. You can ask the other station for your IMD and S/N and tell from that. The closer the IMD is to the negative value of the S/N, the cleaner the signal. Better yet if the other station is running Fldigi, have them bring up the Spectrum Scope and take a screenshot of it and have them email it to you. Here is a good website that explains how to set your audio drive.

Hey Bob, KK6KMU, thank you. I am NOT a contester or award seeker. I just have fun getting on the air when I can be based on conditions (the atmosphere and mine) HI HI HI. I'll look for you. I am going to be on as much as possible to also help others needing a log contact or just the chat. I started out just making contacts having fun, one day I submitted my log to the log checker and WOW, when did I do all those? HI HI HI Since I try to get on several times a week and daily if possible. You and I have had a few QSOs in the past, but none this year! We will resolve that. Thanks for the help and keep having fun, I am. 73 Geary KE5IRK

IC-7300 with Fldigi - setup for PSK-31
ve3xdb
Good evening,
I'm sure this has been addressed somewhere in this forum, but I just spent 30 minutes searching, and couldn't find anything. I apologize if I have missed something right under my nose. I picked up my new Icom IC-7300 yesterday, and it's a nice rig. Took awhile to figure things out, but I am getting close. I now have it set up for cw, PSK31 and FT8. Historically, I have used Kenwood rigs, so this is quite different. My question. Does anyone have a comprehensive source for optimizing PSK31 on the IC7300, using Fldigi and Flrig. Specifically, I am trying to assess the bandwidth of my transmitted signal, and determine how to clean it up if needed. Best regards, Doug VE3XDB
