Re: Beaches on the air
Just worked John at about 14.071.735. Great signal into central Florida from his Hamstick Dipole. BOTA activation. Go get him!

Rechecking log
Spent some time going thru logs from 2019 & 2020 which resulted in picking up another LONP and another Grid (LA) confirmed. Guess it pays to check the log a bit more thoroughly. Right now 20m and other bands are kind of crummy. Worked a station in ID and another in MA during snowstorm here. While chatting with ID station my SWR was bouncing all over from 1:1 up to almost 2:1... wonder if something is loose up on tower ??? Haven't been up there in years, but have always been suspicious of balun in ceramic case. Will just have to live with it I guess,,, So where's this Cycle 25 everyone is crowing about ??? Traffic on reflector has been light lately...hope it picks up with St. Pat's contest. Jerry n9avy

Discone active in Tucson this Wednesday
Per a QSO with AE7W tonight, some of the hams in Tucson will activate the discone antenna at the Titan Missile Museum this Wednesday. They intend to use call sign WB7RCW on 14.235 MHz, starting at 1000 MST/PDT, which if my math is correct works out to 1700 UTC. If you've never worked that huge antenna before, try it. The signal quality is amazing!

The Ø7Ø Club St Patrick’s Day Contest is just 1 week away - Saturday, March 20 - 0000 UTC – 2359 UTC
This is a 1 day, 24 Hour event – Friday evening and Saturday in US. Work as many stations as possible in the allotted time using PSK31 mode only.
Work each station once per band. (Same station, same band, is a dupe!)
Open to all licensed radio amateurs. Using 160M thru 6M (No WARC Bands). 4 Power Categories: QRP < 5 W
BONUS POINTS: Spell “Erin Go Bragh” using the first letter in the call suffix. See Contest Rules for details.
For Rules and details, Click Here: Rules-St Pat's Contest
With 6 bands to choose from, you can optimize your luck with propagation. It is helpful to post your intentions to QSY on the Reflector. Also, be sure to use PSKReporter and to Spot calls seen. Go ahead and Self-Spot! Let folks know you are listening. CALL CQ!!
With the added challenge of spelling “Erin Go Bragh”, your progress on the Work The World (WTW) Endorsement is enhanced. And new members will make great strides on the LONP!!
Let’s see if you are one of the Lucky Irish. Go for that Pot ‘O Gold!

Milt : Often I've seen many here reply to a post with something totally unrelated to the subject line. After that happens I started ignoring subject lines. You can look back into archives if you don't believe me. Figured many had their glasses off or hearing aids not turned on ... ![]() Jerry n9avy

Hi All, I know I haven't been too active on PSK31 lately, but the middle of this month marks 20 years since I worked enough stations to earn my 070 number. I was living in Jacksonville, FL at the time, and as fate has it, I will be sailing from Freeport, Bahamas to my old stomping grounds of Jacksonville on March 16th, arriving on the 17th. Since the proverbial stars seem to be aligning, I will be operating 20M PSK31 as N1ZZZ/MM while I am underway the afternoon and evening of the 16th as my duties allow. I expect to have good coverage into the US East Coast, mid-west, and perhaps western EU. Hopefully I will be able to get in some 070'ers logs and help some people in their quest to join the LONP. 73 Jeremy N1ZZZ/MM

Re: EL59
Richard Rohrer
Hi MIlt,
Send me your text info to my call at arrl.net and I will send a text when hitting grids that you need. Propagation seems to be getting better to the West Coast so we may be able to make some contacts. The xyl is already planning a trip to Ft Worth for gymnastics and we may try to hit a few less populated grids in TX and OK. Probably will be trying EL59 again. 73 Dick - KC3EF
