Re: PSK Reporter...You might want to check....

Rick
I've noticed that before and tnx fer answering that.  Here's another thing about Psk Reporter that a lot of folks aren't aware of.  Since PSK doesn't have forward error correction like some of the other digital mode it looks for the DE then a call sign two times before it spots you.  That's why a lot of stations use their call two times in their macros, it increases their spots.

PSK Reporter...You might want to check....

Rick - N7WE

I use PSK Reporter, not only to self-spot, but to watch for other stations operating from grids I need.  Frequently, I see stations supposedly located in grids I'm after, but when I check QRZ or "read the mail," they are not in the grid PSK Reporter is showing.  After doing some digging, I think I have found at least a partial explanation.  PSK Report is not allowed to use QRZ.com location data.  The database Philip uses is HamCall.  If PSK Reporter is mis-reporting your location, you might want to check your location in the HamCall database.  https://hamcall.net/call/  Basic membership is free and you can edit your data including location, and a 6 digit grid square is recommended!

Yeah.  I saw your spot, Stan.   I've been calling now for about 80 minutes, and nothing on the band.   I'm not hearing any ssb either.  I'm gonna give it til 1530 and move to 20 meters.

40m sloper

Jerry N9AVY

Looks like all the ice & snow finally melted from roof because I made a contact on 40m about 5 minutes ago.  Winter is almost enough to make me want to move South, but not yet  Emoji Problem is the angle of the dangle lets the wire clear roof by 2 inches and when snow piles up it shorts antenna.  Might also have something to do with bracket on tower icing up as well.

Tomorrow will be around 50 F and good time to work on remote antenna switch.  Still a bit a snow out there , but higher temps should make it disappear.

Now for some decent propagation !   2006 style ?

Hi All,
Thanks for those who worked me (4 contacts total).  My operating time was considerably shortened because of antenna issues, laptop issues, and a few miscellaneous others thrown in.  It was one of those "learning experience" days.  However, it was still enjoyable to get out, with sunny skies and moderate temperatures (low 40s).  Hopefully next time I'll have those issues corrected.  Thanks again.

Bob, KC9UR
