If you’re leaning toward a 7300 they are reasonable buying new and getting a factory warranty.

Yep, hams always seem to have money for new radios, but are insultingly cheap when it comes to used ones. Hamfests are the worst, I've always said that it you put a $100 dollar bill on the table some ham will offer $5 for it !

Wholeheartedly agree. There are some guys who buy a rig on Ebay just to remove parts and then return it not working to get their money back. That's why Ebay usually sides with seller.

I would probably buy new unless it came from an estate sale of someone I knew.

I'm using a Kenwood TS-950SD with a SignaLink and a homebrew CAT control serial
interface I built from an FTDI breakout board.  I started on a SWL-20, then
upgraded through a TS-120 and a TS-440SAT before getting the 950.

I've beem using my Icom IC-7300 almost exclusively for the last 3 years.  I love the footprint in my RV, and its easy to take out and use for my portable operations (I do a lot of POTA).
I've been able to power it for hours with a bioenno battery, and since its already got the connections for my laptop, using it for PSK or other digital modes is a snap.  No third party hardware needed.

I also echo Jim's note on Main Trading Company.   I've bought some stuff from them recently, and got a very good price, and shipping too.

Good luck on your search!
