FD log uploaded to ARRL using the PODX 070 club name, with 270 points.

It was my 1st participation in the FD (operating as class 1D) , and thanks to PSK mode, it was the best mode for me:
-FT8 was totaly over crowded
-Made a few RTTY QSO, but not much activity on my waterfall...

John -

Yes, it's tricky. And the VE3 shouldn't have told you that YOU had to stop, unless he was tracking you for over 24 hours.

I think the main point is that they want to incentivize the portable operations, and this lets the really efficient (in terms of speed of setup) operate longer.

Re: Field Day

John -

Although Field Day runs from 1800z to 2059z, a station's individual end time depends on when operation started and when the station was set up. Any station that was set up prior to 1800z can only operate for 24 consecutive hours. So if they started at 1800 on Saturday, they end at 1800 on Sunday. This applies to mobile stations (class C) and fixed stations (D, E and F).

For portable stations (class A and B), it depends on when setup started. If setup starts before 1800, then they are limited to 24 hours like the other classes. If they begin setup at or after 1800, then they can operate from whenever they're ready until 2059z.

Since you were class 1E (thanks for the QSO), you would count your best 24 consecutive hours. In my (admittedly) bizarre case, since my first QSO was at 1745z today, I could have run until 2059z today.

Great contest.  Got 227 PSK31 q's and ran with the generator.  Check it out every Field day for hurricane season.  Got 7 new LONP and
2 new grids.  At 18:30 had a VE3 tell me the contest was over at 18:00, think a lot of folks thought that because the waterfall died around that time.

Well Steve that is better than what I did.  The weekend got out of control here, and I was unable to get on the air at all, first FD I have missed in many years.

Had a strong storm come through, broke off a limb, and it took out my end fed wire.  That is the only antenna I have now, as my Titan DX is on the ground awaiting grandson and friends to come put it back up.  Spent the day yesterday cutting limbs and today cleaning up the back.

Note to everyone: Now that some members have uploaded their logs to ARRL, PODXS 070 appears in the drop-down for Club or Group Name. All you have to do is select (click on) it.

No need to worry about typing it correctly.

Hey Ken, where to.  Give us your address so we can update our database.

I retired from the Navy in SW Mo.  I was the Training Officer to the Navy Reserve Center in Springfield.  Lived in Nixa, and graduated from what is now Missouri State in Springfield.  Have a friend of 40 years that still lives in Nixa, we visit often.
