The plan is set.  I will go up to CN98 tomorrow.  Folks who can’t work tomorrow, do not despair, I will make another trip later this summer.

I plan to be on site by 6/22 2030Z and QRV by 2100Z - a little time to allow for a certain amount of futzing around, as I have not been to the planned site.  If I can arrange things perfectly I might be able to get there earlier but for now that’s the plan.

If the site doesn’t work out plan B is to just drive around until I find a place to set up.

Current plan is to wrap things up around 6/23 0130Z.

I will start on 20m.  Other bands as conditions permit.  I should be in cell coverage and I’ll be looking at pskreporter, etc. to try to judge what seems promising.

Barry, when I at home, I am lucky if I can see your signals on 20m, I think they just go right over my head.  Up in Granite Falls the distance will not be much more favorable, so we may need to get adaptable and creative to make it happen.  That will be fun, I am looking forward to that challenge!

I do hear you.  The minimum travel time for me to get into DN08 is about 4 hours.  So it will take a little more planning than a 1.5 hour jaunt up into CN98.
I’m not saying I’m not going to do it.  I’m just saying it needs to be part of a bigger effort or some other reason to travel to that part of the state, as it’s either an overnight trip, or else it’s a really long day consisting of mostly driving and a little radio.

First of all thanks for the certificate mailing.
Might I suggest for the next mailing that you make a PDF file from your certificate software and e-mail it. I can print my own paper copy from the PDF file if I want to display the award.  Most other organizations have moved to that delivery method to save paper and mailing costs.
Just a thought.

Re: DAZE #3 is history

From what I am seeing, the Endorsement Daze #3 is a resounding success at getting activity on the WARC bands and passing out new member QSOs for LONP credit. Thanks for participating and thanks Jerry, N9AVY, for expediting the Endorsement approvals!

The question has arisen about a participation sticker for Endorsement Daze events. These events are presented to assist in focusing member activity to enhance Endorsement progress.
There is no participation sticker as this is a self-rewarding event. If you participate and make a few new member QSOs and a few WARC contacts or new Grids or progress on your WTW, that is your reward!!.

Please post to the 070 Email Reflector any Soapbox comments you have to highlight your own experience and achievements. I have been very excited to see the great progress that Bob, K4VBM, #2727 (new member January 13, 2020) made during the event. And late yesterday afternoon, he was already at 99 QSOs toward LONP. His experience is above typical, but an inspiration for all of us. I even worked him on 17M.

Next Endorsement Daze #4 is being planned for August 2020. Please send your comments and suggestions to improve our results.

Send them to me at:  robinstan (at) hotmail (dot) com
