Best place to find stations is to use www.hamspots.net

If you're not registered you will have to make up an account

Then once accepted click on Digital Modes

Click on PSK 3 Bands choose what bands you want

save each band you want to follow

Clean Exchange format

The call signs and exchanges should not have any characters before or after them!
With fldigi a simple click logs it all with no typing if the info is in the clear. Typing needed if not.

TDW Propagation

Jim K5SP

From the appearance of my waterfall last evening, the tale of poor propagation is a myth.  There were several traces on 20, and 40 was almost wall to wall with traces.  It appears that on day to day operation, the lack of propagation is caused by lack of operation.

It was great to contact old friends, and some new ones.  Lots of strong signals here, but, I was only using 20 watts, and was either not heard by some stations, or, was overpowered by others when trying to get a contact.  Two more days and I will be there off and on during the day due to commitments.

We MUST use our portion of the band plan or it will be overtaken by other modes, as bandwidth is at a premium.  Those infamous FT8 operators are already trying to zoom down like a hawk after a rabbit on 20 and 40 meters.  They have already completely taken over 17 meters forcing us to drop to 18.097 to get around their operating.

PSK is a great mode, we have a lot of fun using it, and can converse with old and new friends at length.  I know everyone cannot operate every day, but, get on the bands as often as you can, use the bandwidth, and it will remain in PSK operators hands.

Chuck -

Although we made a rules change this year, the 2020 rules are almost identical to the ones from 2001 through 2018. The only change is the addition that you can work non-members.

So unless that 2012 version has a "check to see if the other station is a member" function, it should work just fine.

Other suggestions for logging programs?  Prefer one that can run on the RPi.

N1MM has a UDC for TDW but looks like last update for it was from 2012.  fldigi has limited contest mode.  Haven't really checked to make sure CQRLOG is playing nice with fldigi on my RPi setup.

GL to all in the contest.  Hope to be on for several hours scattered here and there during the event.

As the person writing the scorer, just get your information in "somewhere" and
I'll figure it out.  I will say that putting it in the Serial Number field is
probably the least correct place for it.  The exchange field (which is usually
the srx_string, NOT srx) is a much better place for it.  SRX is supposed to be
QSO serial number, SRX_STRING is "contest QSO received information")
