FYI, yours truly and our NPARC club is featured in the Lightbulb Antenna Article in the May issue of QST Magazine. David Day N1DAY put together the Lightbulb Antenna QSO Party from last year. The article doesn't mention that we made a few PSK contacts as well. That is me tapping the coil on the picture.

I was surprised to run across 2 new 070 numbers today ! They weren't really new ones, but were older one in 1900 and 2400 ranges. Still need to find a few of the relatively recent new numbers. It does help to keep a list that you can check against when you see someone calling CQ. Couldn't get the ones at PODXS site to work; so made one using Excel equivalent. It does help, but it's on other computer and is a pain to reach as I have to slide my chair over a few feet.

Only 16 left to go to next plateau. Do I win anything ? Nope. Just the satisfaction of knowing I did it all by by lonesome. I would encourage other members to collect 070 numbers !!!

Submitted my sad little score last night and didn't have you FH #. Saw you a few times , but your signal was always weak and intermittant copy; so, never got your FH#. Even going through member list didn't yield anything of value. Best copy was out to TX, AZ, NM , CA and WA... got a couple from OH & PA. This would have been a sad turn out even for PODXS.

What I did notice in going through the 6000+ member list was that there were far more DX than U.S. calls. Of the U.S. calls I recognized many PODXS members as well as some 10-10 members. It would have been more fun had so many PODXS members had joined the contest.

Just needed a break from chasing PSK signals and FH Sprint gave that to me. Must be getting bored because I was looking at SSTV signals on 20m !

Hi Jerry,

That would be nice, but it would probably be too large and slow to be useful.  The company I worked for in Atlanta tried to do that with boiler cleaning control software.  They wanted it to be configurable, no matter what the size of the boiler.  The software got to be almost to complex to maintain and a pain for we engineers that had to go to sites to set it up.  Oh well, must not have enough to do, spending too much time on the computer, hi hi.

Most days signals are weak and have lots of QSB. Propagation & power levels may have something to do with that. Most of stronger signals are from FL (KC3FL must be running a kilowatt, hi ! hi ! But I know he isn't , he just has a good signal and a good path to Illinois.

What we need is more sunspots and to get the SFI out of 70.

Would be nice if there was one hunk of software that would do everything and please everyone. Unfortunately, I doubt that will ever happen. Someone once said that "you can please some of the people all the time, but you can't please all the people all the time ...". Think this is most true with computers and software. That is why there have been so many reincarnations of Windows from Microsoft.
