GOOD JOB, Steve

Looks like your latest upload got you the 4 missing dates and gives you the hard to get 366 Award.

It also looks like you should be qualified for the Clock and Calendar Award since you do have the 24/7 Award already.

That may not be a bad idea. I'll have to see if I can put something together
that can plug the holes if it can't be fixed otherwise. Replacing the scorer
is going to be something else I have to address sooner or later; might as well
be sooner.

Considering the recent "challenges" with the club, it's entirely likely many of
the contest scorings may be busted.

Time Blocks

After posting my topic "confused", I don't feel alone.  Looks like this topic is not new and will probably surface again.  When I went to upload my log I realized that the scorer wanted three logs, one for each day.  Since the scorer knows the rules and enforces them, why not let the scorer do it's job and determine if it's a dupe.  It probably takes less time to give the exchange than explaining the rules and if the station is ignored and they keep trying it messes things up for everyone.
Since the purpose of the contest is to get as many stations on the air it doesn't make any sense to label a contact with a station you worked the day before a dupe.  By doing that you are going into a new day knowing 70 or 80% of the stations are dupes.  That's not a lot of fun.  Imagine what it would be like to score the contest if we have to go to manual scoreing.

I concur the rules need clarification about the time blocks, even if the scorer does not match QSO's.  I may work W3HF early in the morning hours, decide not to submit that block, and then work him again later in the day, at night, and count that block.,

As for the number of times we can work a station, for some reason I am thinking that a couple years ago there was this same discussion, and it was decided that you could work a station in a submitted block once per band, per day.  So, if I made a contact with W3HF on 40, 80, and 160 each day of the contest, then I could have a total of 9 legitimate contacts. I think this is how the TDW works (without going to look at the rules), and we should have all of our multi day contests work the same way in that regard.

Has anybody seen a signal on 160M so far ?

Calling for 20 minutes and narry a flicker.

My makeshift Inverted L may be the main reason.

Still calling.

Jerry, I copied you 599 and responded three times, but apparently you didn't receive any of my transmissions.

Looks to me like it's DQing all the QSOs. I wonder if the logic for the start times is based on 2018 and hasn't been updated for 2019. (I can't see that deep into it.)

Just had a quick look at the scorer and it seems there may be a problem.  5 logs submitted so far...but no one has any score.  Everything appears to be a "check log only."  Huh?  Enough for me, I'm turning in.  Thanks to all with whom I made contact and thanks to all who may have tried and I couldn't see you.

Happy Veterans Day to all and my sincere thanks to those who served and are serving.  We will not forget!

Jim -

No apologies needed. I agree we could make the rules a bit more clear, since it's a topic that comes up regularly.

First of all, the TDW does NOT operate that way. Never has.

Second, this subject came up last night on the reflector, and I gave the "one contact per band over all three days" answer. Last night I had checked one of the top logs from last year's contest, and observed that there were no "multi-day" dupes. Tonight I checked another top log, and found that the scorer flagged a "multi-day dupe" and gave it zero QSO points. So the scorer does enforce the rule as I described it.
