Enjoyed working some old friends and some new ones in the first leg of the contest last night. Stayed on past 10 PM EST in hopes of picking up some west coast stations. Other than Bob - KK6KMU - that I worked on 40m as soon as I got on (about 4:30 PM his time) the furthest west I worked was Ohio. Maybe it was just Friday night and our west coast friends were busy with other things or maybe it was just bad prop. Do hope the prop cooperates tonight and I can work some more stations west of the Mississippi. CU on the waterfall this evening, 73

I could hear a few, but could not be heard, guess it’s a bust for me this year. At least I got to see some traces for a change.

Re: Club Crisis
I am so sorry to hear of these difficulties. I wish I could help, but I am trying to do what I can to keep the club I have participated in and worked for (over 35 years) survive as well. I have been a NCS, Chairman, Bulletin Editor, Yahoo and Groups.io Moderator and Group Owner and Website Caretaker (hate term Webmaster) on more than one occasion over the years. I knew I was in trouble when I talked to a well-known weak signal operator at a Hamfest and in discussion he said, "What can SWOT do for me?". I suggest the powers that be here get together and make a long term plan and keep it simple. I think SKCC (Straight Key Century Club) has done a fine job keeping interest up. Another suggestion is to strongly support other groups of like interest (if they still exist). Together you stand, divided you fall.... and add Fail.

Re: Grids
Jerry and all-
I was just using Amateur Radio Ham Radio Maidenhead Grid Square Locator Map - http://www.levinecentral.com/ham/grid_square.php - and came across a feature that seems new...well, new to me anyway. If you use lookup by callsign, and there is a conflict between what is reported on QRZ.com and the grid Levinecentral computes, it shows both, but the QRZ is shown in red! Try it by looking up N7JYX. Very very helpful for those of us chasing grids! -- Rick - N7WE 070 - #1602

Re: 070 Club Revival
David, K9DWR
I intend to put the work that I started in python for adif parsing and endorsement checking into a GitHub repo, so anyone can access/contribute to it. What I have right now is just a rough pass at a couple smaller awards as a POC. I’m still trying to decide exactly what format to use for the data, etc.

Karl Heinz Kremer - K5KHK - PODXS 070 # 2645
THANK YOU! to everybody who stepped up. I would love to contribute some time, but between having a job, and being on the board of our local club (and being very active in supporting the club activities), I just don't have any time left to contribute. I will however continue to advertise the 070 club and it's activities whenever I get a chance (e.g. tomorrow for a presentation mainly about WSPR and FT8, where I will shoehorn in a plug for PSK31 :) )
Thanks again, Karl Heinz - K5KHK
