Been trying to upgrade my LONP, but every time I find a member I still need, I call and call and can’t get through.   Even though I’ve worked them before, they need to be reworked after the date they joined PODXS 070.

Most notably are VE9BGC & W3BUG… there are many others but can’t recall their call signs.  Seems like I work a lot of stations who then join PODXS and never get to work them again. Hope a few of you show up for this upcoming weekend’s LONP operation.

I tried 17/`12m  after I saw your messages.   17m , I think, has been moved to 18101 to get away from FT8 QRM.   Saw a PSK signal up there, but it quickly disappeared.   Also tried 24920 to no avail.

Let me know when you’re back on.

Hi Matt,

thanks for the clarification. It's always in the fine print... :) I've never even seen a PSK31 signal on 17m (or 12m for that matter), but I'll give it a try. Instead of monitoring 30m, from now on it will be 17 and 12. I am actually calling CQ on 17 right now.

Back in the old days, 18.100 was the goto freq for PSK31. Back in the days == before FT8.
Is there a new hangout for PSK31 on 17 Meters, or are we just supposed to share?

Thanks

Re: Question Marks

Where are you copying from? I assume the question marks are some formatting code. Try to first paste into a text only editor (or ASCII editor), and then copy and paste from there to the email. If you are on Windows, then use Notepad as your text editor. Does that change the behavior? If so, then it's some formatting code that gets picked up that Thunderbird might just ignore (but still keep in the message), but groups.io has a problem and converted it to a question mark.

Question Marks

Jim K5SP

Need some help.   Any message I send from my email client (Thunderbird), in which I do a copy and paste, looks good in the client; however, when it is sent  to others, question marks are inserted in the text.  (Look at my latest welcome message for an example).

I have been through all the settings in my client, but nothing I do seems to change things.  How/where are these question marks being inserted, and what can I do to prevent it from happening (other than changing clients).

Just got home and saw the postings.  Fired up the rig and called CQ on 17m at about 14:50 UTC and the SWR is thru the roof.  Got to trouble shoot that!  Will be back later if I can fix it and you still want to try Karl.

Matthew King - AK4MK

Hey, Karl - good job on the 30/30M!  Unfortunately, that award (and the 12/12M & 1717M) have a prerequisite - the TRI-WARC award.

TRI-WARC consists of 3 QSOs each on 12, 17, and 30 meters.  Once you achieve that, then the 12/12M, 17/17M, and 30/30M come open.

You can click on the HAVE and TARGET numbers for any award (complete or in progress), to see what prerequisites there may be, as well as your actual progress on that award.  Take a look at the screenshot that I've pasted below.

See if you can schedule 3 contacts each on 12 & 17 meters.  You'd be surprised what can happen on a "dead" band when there's people trying to work on it!

Re: PSK LOGGING

Dave, you're going to get a lot of replies!
I use the N3FJP AC Log. Great, versatile and very well supported by Scott, N3FJP, personally.
I've been using it for 12+ years now, and have over 20,000 q's very stably logged.
I upload to and download from LotW with ease.

OK - on 40m now.  I just worked W2CMC - Cape May Races station?  Not sure if that was Justin or not.  N2CMC comes back to Cape May County Amatuer Radio Club.  But the call was definitely W2CMC. ????
