Club station

Jerry N9AVY

Was asked for club station a couple time during Sprint, but if I recall rules that it would not be proper. Also, my left side is a bit wonky and it’s surprising how much your left hand comes into play when contesting; so this is a major handicap for me.

Made a few contacts and thanks to all for hanging in there with me.  Tried to work a couple station who just didn’t have enough power/signal to decode; they were just faint traces.  Sorry.  Also  I saw quite a few working  YV4YY , but just couldn’t pull him out of noise. Guess my vertical sucks to the South.  Maybe I’ll put up a bigger antenna before fall.

070 numbers ?

Jerry N9AVY

Hi All !

Need your help please.  There are quite a few new members in last year or so whom I worked before you got your 070 number.  Have seen a few on the air, but you sign off too fast .  I am currently headed towards 1000 LONP, according to Stan, W9SMR.

So if you see me calling CQ and have or have not worked me in past few years, please give me a call.  Will be looking for new numbers in tomorrow’s Firecracker Sprint as well as on 20m PSK31.

Thanks in advance !

Well done Dan!  Please add my congratulations to those already posted here.  I often think WTW is the most difficult of all the 070 Endorsements - and you have done it!

40M FIRECRACKER SPRINT - Starts Tomorrow

stan W9SMR

The 070 Club 40M Firecracker Sprint Contest begins tomorrow!

The 24 hour window -

Opens at:  2000 UTC (1600 EDT) on Saturday July 6th

Closes at: 2000 UTC (1600 EDT) Sunday July 7th.

You choose your best 6 hour block when submitting your entry.  Logs due 1 week after contest closes. Open to all licensed amateurs.

You can use this Contest to increase your LONP totals and work on tough Endorsements like WALC-NA*. Our members on the West Coast are struggling for contacts, partly because those operators on the East coast and the Mid-West are hitting the sack before conditions are favorable to the West coast. An idea has been offered where operators on the West Coast will periodically check the activity they see and post that info to the Reflector. Enter your own call or other’s in PSKReporter to see activity. Pick your starting time to optimize short, medium and long distance contacts.

As conditions improve, your chances of making these contacts will soar!! Pull out the coffee pot and enjoy the chase!!

4 categories – High, Medium, Low, and QRP power.

Exchange: Callsign, Signal Report, State/Province/Country (SPC).

Call:  “CQ 40m Sprint”

Full details can be found at: http://www.podxs070.com/o7o-club-sponsored-contests/40m-firecracker-sprint

Good luck to all and hope to see you on the waterfall!

Work All Left Coast of North America and earn the WALC-NA endorsement! To qualify for the WALC-NA, work Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California on PSK31, one contact required in each state/province for a total of 5 contacts. 160M thru 6M only.
