I actually just returned from a week in Florida, and I was not traveling with a radio, but still managed my at least one contact a day (plus 14 on Christmas Day) using a Remote Desktop application to remote control my computer and radio. The radio is powered via a smart plug that i can control via the internet. I took a calculated risk by leaving the antenna connected (not too many thunderstorms in December in Western New York).

It can be done, but requires a bit of planing and testing to make sure that all parts are in place and are actually workin together.

If you need some tips, just shoot me an email.

Did not get my last few days for 365.  XYL and I went to Florida to celebrate Christmas with our son.  We do that every year so these last few may be hard to get.  Had a great Christmas and certainly hope that all of you did as well.

Hi Bryon
Yes, I had a QSO on 40m with a newbie, KD2NOY. It was a surprisingly strong contact. We we went back and forth with solid copy both ways for about 10 minutes. Then QSB came on strong and the path was lost. I emailed him some info about 070, maybe we will get a new member. I did not see another trace. I tried 80m for about 5 minutes, no joy, just ARRL code practice heard.
Thanks for replying. I will be on 20m for an hour or 2 during daylight tomorrow. And looking to cover the last 3 days of the year beginning tomorrow evening about 00:00 it's tomorrow evening.

Jim,

I saw you several times and tried, but the east-west daytime prop seemed one-way for us in the PNW most of the time.

The 20M prop improved rather late in the game for us, but it was nice seeing the increased activity on the band.

I managed to get my 25, in between family duties.  Did not start until Christmas morning, was not allowed to get on Christmas EVE.

Never saw Jerry, or anyone in PNW.

Mike, I believe it is looking for RX Power and TX Power. I use HRD Logbook and it does not present a way to enter RX Power (the power the other station is using) in the Add Log window. I have to go into the bulk editor using the “any fields” selection, and add the TX Power and RX Power fields to set the values.
