Please note a few changes....
- All of our contests are now open to any licensed PSK-31 operator!  We no longer have any "members only" contests.
- The June High Band Challenge has been retired - there are some exciting new developments that will fill this spot. Further information about this will come out after the first of the year.
- Power categories have been made uniform across contests. Now, where there are multiple power entry categories, 5 watts is QRP, 25 watts is low power, 50 watts is medium power, and 100 watts is high power.

We hope that opening the contests to all licensed amateurs will encourage additional participation in our contests. That can be nothing but good for the club.

The High Band Challenge has had low participation from its inception, likely due to the difficulty of getting on bands above 6m, and the spotty propagation on 10m & 6m the past few years.  We've decided to eliminate it to free up space for a new idea. More information about it will be presented soon.

Making the power categories uniform just made sense.

We look forward to seeing everyone in next year's 070 Club contests!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all!

Just reconnected with Suke JM7OLW on 20m at 2325Z  Awesome signal here in PNW US.  I pointed him at the 070 web site, maybe he’ll join.  I can’t count how many times he’s in my log, dozens, always a friendly chat.  Looks like he’s still calling CQ down load 14070.425.  He’s a big PSK enthusiast, so urge him to join 070 if you connect!

Interesting that the more distant stations were all solid 599 on recieve, but the NC station was only partial copy at about 459.  So I think this thing radiates much better than it hears.

Anyway, it comes down at daylight tomorrow.  HOA you know!  Any and all comments and suggestions are welcome.

Paul, I'm ready to give up on us having a Q - maybe if I just holler loud!  It is only 60 miles after all.

Today 12/6/2018 KC8WSM - Bill of  Cheyenne WY completed his 366!  Bill is the first member from Wyoming to complete this challenging endorsement.  He becomes the 36th out of 2658 members of our fine club to achieve this lofty goal.

Please join me in congratulating Bill on achieving this endorsement (and give a shout out to Wyoming - the Cowboy State!)  Great job Bill.  Celebrate!

40m NVIS

Rick - N7WE

OK, got the 40m NVIS II rigged and ready to try this evening.  Dipole at 10 ft - flat top - with a single reflector wire on the ground directly underneath.  I will be on shortly after 0:30 UTC.  Any and all contacts greatly appreciated.  Also anyone who can monitor PSK Reporter on 40m will be very helpful as I will look to that to see where I am being received.  Hopefully this attempt will go much better than the last time - hi hi!

Anyone near a radio to answer my CQ?

I'm chasing a "calendar year" 365.

I need at least one contact for today.

Paul-
Glad you got the Q!  I haven't given up on us working yet!  (Maybe I should head back out west...seemed we worked daily when I was doing the Final Tour.) I have an idea for a new rigging of the 40m NVIS (hopefully this time it will be NVIS!).   We may still be too close since you only have the vertical.  But it sure won't hurt to try.  Also, I'll be looking for close in-contacts with anyone in FL, AL, MS, and GA.  I'll also look at PSK Reporter 40m to see who may be hearing me.  It may turn out to be another non-NVIS antenna, but I sure am having fun fooling around with it!
