TDW Was A Good Contest
Bands were tough for the most part but did log a bunch of old and new friends. When I shut down Friday night, Windows decided to do the big April update. Saturday morning my digital software was screwed up and couldn't operate. Had to go back to a restore point to get back on the air as quick as possible. Still, a very good 070 weekend - thanks everyone for the contacts

PSK is alive and well. I made it a personal mission to make at least one PSK contact each day in 2018. So far, so good. Has it been easy? Some days yes, some no. But there are openings (on at least one band) every day. Just get on the air. The TDW was great fun, I wish we had that much activity every weekend. Thanks to everyone who participated. 73 Paul NU4C Sent from my Galaxy Tab® A

Sorry, I meant to say the PSK was almost non-existent for the "past few months". It was certainly not non-existent this weekend.
I also forgot to thank those who volunteered their time and their stations to be bonus stations this weekend. Without them, the TDW would not have been the same.

I got several of the bonus stations on both 20m and 40m.
I worked a few stations on 10 m. I guess there was also a 10-10 Open Season event going on, so I spotted some signals there. Too bad N9AVY's station went into a coma this weekend; he could have work both events as he is also a prominent member of 10-10 as well as 070.
We got several new members this weekend.
Even though the bands were quite challenging at time, it was a FB time for those who were able to get on the air for even a portion of the three days. I look forward to next year.

Despite the conditions it was fun. To make some contacts you had to work at it. One had to check prop, watch bands come in and out, hop around some, which in my mind was very entertaining and challenging. I certainly didnt see any DX burning through, but there was and is activity. So when everyone says the bands are dead....they are dead because no one is working them. I saw some very interesting propagation, and yes there were times where the bottom would fall out of band, but it popped right up, One just has to be persistent.
I never saw the two UK bonus stations, so I hope you chaps over there didnt have to talk only to yourselves, hi! Would been nice to see some DX\ Finally I think we stirred some interest. I made a couple of non contest QSO's where the operator wanted to know about the club and the contest. So, my thoughts....thanks to the PODX gang for keeping this running and making the contests. Re: Contest Thoughts
I have not been real active in PSK31 for a while now, I been on the evil FT8 ... It seems the activity went way down with the bands and for PSK31 WAS on 10-12-15 I need some states and there isnt much on.
So I saw on the groups.io that the TDW was this weekend and I decided what the heck. My only goals were to meet some old friends and have fun did both .. there are calls missing that I wish were on but alas, not to be but I did have FUN Thanks for allowing me in -- Scotty W7PSK Everett, Washington 070 #138

Mike Besemer - WM4B #348 <mwbesemer@...>
Don't feel too bad Jerry... it's going around.
I took Friday off to take care of some projects that were piling up, one of which was programming a spare link radio for my repeater. Found out right away that my trust bench power supply was only putting out 2.5 VDC; got that swapped out and then one of my service monitors would not power on. Spent the day building the ESR meter that had been sitting on my bench since Christmas so I could troubleshoot. The Astron went in the trash and the service monitor is now awaiting parts. That Astron was hit by lightning a few years ago and never has been quite right since. Hopefully Burghardt will pull a rabbit out of their hat for you on Monday. 73, Mike WM4B

I'm fairly certain the log checker does not have the new calls in it yet, I have two new calls showing as mismatch.
